Omolara’s countenance changed immediately she saw the call. She ignored it and dropped the phone on the table but David noticed the expression on her face. “Hope there is no problem?” He asked.

“Not at all, just someone really annoying.” She replied.

When David realized the hostility in the air, he rose up to leave and she bade him farewell.

He lay on his bed at home thinking about the second encounter he had with the mysterious lady. When he first saw her at the beach, he had first thought he was just being silly. But within the few moments they spent together, he had felt a strong bond with her.

He was still day dreaming when his mother opened the door and saw him lying lazily on the bed.

“Hello mum ” He greeted.

“Hope you are doing good my boy? ” She replied before she took her seat. “David please don’t ever repeat what you did yesterday again . When you left, I was so deeply terrified. I couldn’t sleep all night. ” She said.

“Am so sorry, I let my anger get the best of me and I almost got in trouble.” “What happened? ” She asked with concern.

“My car ran into a lady. I only thank God nothing happened to her. ” He explained. “Oh my god! Where is she now? Hope you took her to the hospital? ” She asked. “I took her to a nearby hospital and they took care of her. She has been discharged now.”

“Oh thank God. David you really need to start praying fervently.” She advised. “Thanks mom, I will . Am thinking about something. ” “What is that? ” she asked.

I need job, have been sitting in this house ever since I came back. I want to work.

He said.

“It’s alright, I will tell your dad when he comes back. Maybe you can get a work in his office. “She answered.

“Thanks so much ma ” He appreciated.

Omolara stepped into the club with her heart beat accelerating. Her fear increased when she noticed all eyes were trained on her the moment she stepped in.

“What have you done Cherry? The Don is really pissed off right now.” One of her friends said.

“You shouldn’t have come back, Don threatened to kill you. You should go back now if you value your life. ” Another lady advised but before she could make any decision, Don Carlos came in. As soon as they saw him, everyone was quiet.

Omolara almost dissolved as she saw her fierce looking boss making his way towards her. He grabbed her hair and pulled her all the way to his office. The door closed and all her friends heard a horrific scream for mercy.. TO BE CONTINUED
