Florencia’s POV

 

I rushed to the hospital the moment I heard that the poor girl couldn’t make

 

it.

 

No. I didn’t come just to see her corpse. I just came for my son.

 

There was so much chaos on the corridor as I walked to Paula’s ward.

 

I got to her ward and leaned on the door quietly as I observed my son.

 

He was crying so much over that piece of shit he calls a fiancee.

 

So disgusting. How can he love the daughter of the woman that ruined our lives?

 

Who does that?

 

Then, much to my horror, the heart monitor beeped and there was absolute normality.

 

 

I guess she is awake. As much as I want her dead and gone, I can’t do that now. Besides it will be no fun. I have a lot of things in store for her which needs to be explored by her.

 

So far everything is working as I’ve planned.

 

And that foolish detective thought he could outsmart me. I smirked as I remembered what actually happened last two weeks.

 

 

FLASHBACK

 

 

After Xander left, I decided to go see the man Pablo hired to drive Paula. In order to make it look real, I hired some thugs to beat the old hag to a pulp. He was later admitted here by my men in the hospital where Paula has also been admitted. I also made sure. I took his phone and gave it Xander. Simple right?

 

But I really felt sorry for him. I didn’t mean to hurt him. So I decided to take some cash to him. But when I looked into my bag, I saw a strange pen in my bag. I don’t remember carrying this pen along. Then I remembered I bumped into that man. Could it be that, he mistakenly slipped it there and I didn’t notice?

 

I placed it back and got out of the car.

 

After I returned from his ward, I saw the guy I assumed to be an errand boy having a hearty chat with Pablo’s friend Daniel.

 

I became suspicious of him when I saw him walk together with Daniel to his car and they drove away. Daniel also had that set of Bluetooth in his ears.

 

One thing is clear. He is not an errand boy as I assumed.

 

I got back to the car and quickly googled about the pen. Oh.. I see. It was a spy pen for voice recording.

 

But why will he put it in here? Is he suspecting me?

 

I quickly deleted the conversation Xander and i had. And recorded another conversation and put it back.

As I was about to pull out of the hospital premises, I saw him coming towards me.

 

He came closer and I scrolled the mirror down and pretended as if I knew nothing about the pen.

 

“Hello. Ma’am”.

 

“Yes?”

 

“I just came to asked in case you’ve come around a pen?”

 

“A pen?”

 

“Yes please”

 

“Okay lemme check.” I replied and searched my bag.

 

“This?” I asked and raised it up.

 

“Y..yes. that’s it”.

 

I smiled and gave it to him.

 

“Thank you ma’am” he said politely.

 

“No problem. Just make sure you take care of the things that are valuable to you. Keep them safe. You might not know whose hand it got into.” I replied and drove off.

 

He is such a dumbo. You will try your best but you wouldn’t be able to succeed.

 

I’m such a smart and hard nut that cannot be cracked easily.

 

I have everything covered. Absolutely everything. Try harder next time Mr detective. I’m really proud of myself now. So so proud.

 

PRESENT

 

 

I quickly changed my facial demeanor and walked over to them after the doctor and the nurses were done checking her.

 

With a sad look clouding my face, I knelt beside him and threw my arms around him.

 

“Shsh… It’s okay my dear.” I comforted him as I stole a quick glance at her. She was still sleeping quietly.

 

“Mum!” Pablo said as he returned the hug.

 

“Mum. She woke up. She woke for me.I was so scared. I don’t know what would’ve happened to me if she didn’t.” He said as he shed tears of joy.

 

“Pablo?, Mum?”

 

Pablo disengaged from the hug the moment he heard her voice.

 

I gave her a forged smile when she looked at me weirdly.

 

I started feeling awkward when her eyes wouldn’t divert from mine.

 

I decided to say something to reduce the awkwardness.

 

“Paula, I’m glad you woke up. Who knows what would’ve happened to my only son if you didn’t.

 

Thank you Paula. I’m grateful”

 

She smiled weakly but genuinely at me and replied,” I did nothing mum. He did it. His love brought me back. He wouldn’t stop wailing and calling out my name” she said and giggled slightly.

 

I almost scoffed but smiled.

 

“On a serious note, even if am not around , try to live for those who care for you Pablo.” She added her attention on Pablo who I intend was looking at her lovingly.

 

 

“What is Life? If you’re not here with. You’re my happiness and without you, the word happiness is void in my life” he replied stupidly yet sweetly.

 

How can this boy choose the bitch over me?

 

Paula smiled happily as her eyes twinkled with what seems to love.

 

Seriously, I’m starting to feel like a third wheel.

 

Love talking in front of me? Yuck!

 

“Annaa!!” A voice squealed from behind.

 

I looked at Paula, she was smiling so wide.

 

I looked at Pablo and his face was a mixture of surprise and anger.

 

I looked back and my eyes brightened happily at the sight before me.

 

 

“Oh my gosh!!”
