Episode 10

*Susan Peters POV*

We arrived at the wedding reception and trust me it was very grand. I was happy to see the couple and how sweet they were acting towards each other and it reminded me of Victor my ex husband. I missed him so much and wanted him around me but it wasn’t possible anymore as he was now married with children I guess. At some point I couldn’t see clearly again, things were blur and my cheek were wet. I realized I was tearing up and then immediately left for the rest room. *****

Nuel came after me and asked, “Susan? Are you okay dear?”

I couldn’t say anything as my emotions were just not letting me and then she hugged me. She wiped my tears and helped fix my make up and then we left the rest room.

She offered to drive back home if I wasn’t okay but I declined.

Oh come on Nuel! We can’t just go back home because of me, I’ll wait for you in the car till the wedding’s over okay? Have fun’.

She finally agreed after I struggled to convince her I’d be fine.

As I got outside I was shocked at the sight I beheld, it was Victor! He too was shocked as the bag he held fell out of his hand.

“Susan! He called out with a normal face.

“Wow! It’s a surprise to see you here,how have you been?” He asked.

I wished I could tell him I wasn’t okay,I terribly missed him and so did the kids well Stephanie most of especially. I wished I could hug him as elegantly as he still looked but all I could say was,” I’ve been good and you?”

We talked for a while and he told me about the petrochemical industry he worked in and traded in in some other Countries too. He mentioned that his son had a kidney disease so he came down from Texas to New York to be with him.

Oh! So you base in Texas?” I asked

He was about answering when a boy younger than Benjamin walked up to him and said,” dad,mom sent me to check up on you as you’ve been out long” He took the bag from Victor and went back inside.

Victor told me that was his son and asked after the kids then entered his car and left.

I was so happy to see him and just as I turned,I saw Nuel cat walking towards me. She saw from my face that I was very happy and asked if I won a lottery or something and we laughed. I told her I saw Victor but she laughed

“Okay Susan, what would he be doing here?” Nuel asked “The same thing we came to do except he’s gone” I replied “There! See that young man in a blue suit?” I pointed “That’s his son,he introduced him to me” I said innocently.

Nuel replied,” Fine! I’ll believe you’re still sane and don’t need a psychiatrist”.

I scoffed.

Jessica and I had slept off but was awoken by the noise of the car so we rushed outside to welcome them back.

“Good evening mom,how was the wedding?” Jessica asked her mom.

“Can I help carry your bag mom?” Little Nora said but her mom said,” don’t worry my little one”.

I greeted her too and I guessed mom must have alighted at our place so I told them I had to go back home.

“Good evening mom” I said hugging her.

“You looking revived,seems like Mrs Nuel did a good job by taking you along.

She smiled and I offered to prepare dinner while she went upstairs to take a bathe.

*Fred Mccalls POV*

I was reading a text when I saw the picture of na.ked Camille in my phone. I honestly thought she was a girl tough to get but seems she was a slut,so much for the renowned Anabel Martin’s.

I was about entering the class but saw Stephanie so I approached her.

“Hey Steph” I said.

“Oh hey Fred,seems like you’ve got a new thing for being early to school now huh!” I said and we both laughed.

“So how’s your reading with Camille going?” I asked

“It’s fine, the competition is in a week and I’m already ready”.

“That’s good,seems like you’ve grown really fond of your new reading partner. You don’t join us for lunch anymore. Jessica loves you a lot and I hope you do, Don’t

try to make a mistake of hurting her because I’ll make sure you regret it” I said innocently.

He just smiled and said,”Jessica and I have talked about it and she’s fine with it so

stop trying to be nosy”.

“Nosy? You better n

ot get me provoked Mr Fred or you’ll regret it” I scoffed and walked out. *Stephanie’s POV*

It was a stressful day at school, I got home and went straight to my room;took a shower and warmed up the left over in the fridge. I was waiting for it while standing by the microwave when Williams call came in.

We talked for a while and he asked about my day. Just then Jessica entered the sitting room looking very annoyed.

“What did you tell Fred Stephanie!” She asked.

“Sorry Williams, I’ll call you back”.

I didn’t tell him anything apart from he being careful not to hurt your feelings, that’s all” I answered back.

*Well you really shouldn’t be bothered about that, I trust him and I know he wouldn’t try to hurt me so why’d you make him feel bad?!” She retorted leaving in anger.

“Oh my God! What have I done” I asked myself rubbing my face.
