It was a beautiful Sunday morning and i was feeling lazy,mom too. We we’re exhausted from the party and wasn’t going to attend church today too.

I had taken my bathe and was having breakfast while mom was sitted on a couch talking to some clients with the TV on. The door bell rang, who could that be? I thought

I was at the dining room table which was located a bit far from the entrance door so mom went to open the door.

Oh hi! Williams. How are you doing?” She said leading him into the house “Good morning ma, I’m fine how are you doing?”

I knew that voice was familiar and as I turned back I saw Williams. What is he doing here I asked myself.

Good morning honey” he said

“Good morning Williams” I replied sarcastically.

He didn’t mind as he still went on

“How was your night love?”

“Love?” Excuse me Williams

My name is Stephanie! STEPHANIE!!! Not love or honey I Sai in anger.

“I’m sorry if i got you upset” he said

“You better be” I replied.

Mom interrupted the argument,” so Williams to what do we owe this visit”. “Oh yeah ma, I wanted to ask for your permission to ask Steph out for a date today,maybe later in the evening”.

“I’m busy, I’ve got studies and other important thing to do,thank you!” I said walking out in anger.

My mom apologized to him on my behalf and promised him I’ll be ready by evening so he could come pick me up. He agreed, thanked her and left.

Mom came up to my room and knocked but I wasn’t ready for that conversation so I ignored the knocks but she persisted so I opened up.

“Steph honey,I know you’re mad at me and you have the right to be but I want you to understand me baby. Everything I’m doing is for you my dear, I know what I passed through before becoming who I am today and I don’t want you going through that”.

“That’s why I’m studying mom! To be successful and independent!” I replied

But she continued,” no matter how successful you’ll become, you’ll always need a man to complete you and I want you to consider Williams. Just get to know

him,you might learn to love him and there’s no way I’ll let you get close to him if he’s a jerk you know that right? I want the best for you baby”

Okay mom, I guess you’re right and in the best position to give this advise since you’ve passed through some painful shits. I’ll consider Williams”.

That’s good honey,you already look pretty,a little touch on your face and you’ll be glowing as always”.

Oh there’s my mom flattering me!

I got dressed for the date and Williams was on time,we left together to a fancy restaurant. Undeniably,it was very pretty and he acted like a gentleman.

We got to know each other better and I think I liked him. He was funny and had a good see of humor. We took some pictures and then exchanged numbers, something we should have done from the beginning.

He ordered my favorite for the both of us and while eating we had conversations. The evening eventually came to an end even though I wished it wouldn’t.

He gave me some flowers and a peck I was still in shocked from the peck that I didn’t realize him opening the car door.

“Steph? Are you okay?” He asked

Oh yeah! I’m good,thanks for that” I replied

“Oh! I meant the flowers not the uhhhh this is weird, let’s get going please”.

He smiled and got into the car zooming off.

He dropped me at home but the weather was becoming gloomy so he waved at mom and gave me a hug then turned to leave. Mom asked him to stay over but he declined so we left him to his wish.

Mom asked me about my day and I explained everything to her,she could see excitement written all over my face and teased me with it. I had to leave to go to bed as I had school tomorrow.

I phoned Jessie and told her about my day though it wasn’t a well detailed gist as she was yawning buy she managed to tell me ” maybe Williams ain’t that bad, I don’t think Jeffrey will be back for you so just continue with him” “Goodnight Jessica” I said hanging up.

I thought about Jeffrey wondering where he was and what he was doing and I promised myself not to fall for Williams as I still loved Jeff “Ha
