THREE_EMPTY_WORDS

PROLOGUE

I stared down at twenty year old Xenosah as she peacefully slept, I had expected this day to come but I didn’t think it would come this soon. What my parents had was a wild moment, a few minutes of lust and sweat, something that was never supposed to happen but did.

My mother Francie Mwansa being black, got impregnated at sixteen by a white man that was just visiting her school. He was a son to a United Nations’ donor for a program that was running at her school by then.

Abortion was out of the question and so she kept us, battling with insults from the world, humiliation from her own family and worse her own regrets.

You can say she was wild and I wouldn’t argue with you; having the beauty, brains and charm earned her a list of suitors even at thirty six. Scott Franklin; our father, had no idea she was pregnant for Xenosah and I until two years ago when I did some research and found him.

I arranged a meeting and he wasn’t so pleased, my mother was upset to find out what I had done but it was for the better. I was tired of being the yellow bone that didn’t know her roots, I was tired of being the mixed race that had no male figure to call a father.

My names are Xenia Mwansa. Xeno (sah) and I were the total opposite of each other, I kind of blame our mother because whilst my name meaning hospital guest, Xeno’s means stranger; both originating from Greek.
