Dylan’s POV

 

 

“Stephanie!? What are you doing here? Why aren’t you in Missouri?” I asked, not minding that I was talking too fast. It all just seemed unreal and fake.

 

 

“Chillax Dylan! One question at a time… I’m here on vacation with Aaron and some friends. I never thought I’d run into you though. I guess it’s just fate.” She said, a smile on her face as she slipped her hands around my shoulders.

 

 

“But Steph, you really don’t still think we’re still a thing right?”

 

 

“Of course…I do. We never broke up now, did we? You moved away…without telling me if I might add.”

 

 

“I know but… I’ve moved on.”

 

 

“Oh really? That’s pretty low Dylan…”

 

 

“But I… You can’t be here. You just can’t!” I yelled, backing away from her.

 

 

“Well I am and you’re all mine.”

 

 

“But Steph, please try to understand. I’m dating Violet right now and you…”

 

 

“Hold on a sec, did you just say you’re dating Violet? My Violet!?” I heard Aaron say behind me.

 

 

“She’s no longer your Violet, Aaron. Last I checked, y’all broke up.” I replied sternly.

 

 

“We didn’t, Dylan.”

 

 

“Yes you did and you’re a bastard if you think you’re getting her back after using her to get a business deal.”

 

 

“I bet Violet has something else to say about it… That’s right. We’ve met!”

 

 

They’ve met!? That explains her strange behavior when she came back. She already met Aaron… Could it be that she still has feelings for him?

 

 

No, that’s crazy. Violet could possibly still have feelings for Aaron after all he did. She just couldn’t.

 

 

“And even if you’ve met, what the heck does that mean? She can never be yours Aaron, get that?”

 

 

“Well, what about me?” Stephanie asked meekly behind me.

 

 

I took a shaky breath and turned to meet her.

 

 

“Look Steph, I know I never really said it before but it’s over between us. I’ve moved on and you should too.”

 

 

“But Dylan, it’s not fair. You’re being unfair and irrational right now. I had you first. Violet was only a friend and now you’re dating her even though you never really broke up with me!?”

 

 

“But I just did!” I argued.

 

 

“No Dylan! It doesn’t work that way. You don’t get to dump me like some piece of trash. You belong to me and only me, not Violet. You have to break up with her, you just have to!”

“Well I’m sorry Steph but I can’t do that. I’m dating Violet now and it’s over between us. I’m sorry.” I said, walking away, wincing as I heard Steph scream.

 

 

Right now though, that was the least of my problems. Aaron was around and he and Violet had already met. With the way he spoke, it was obvious he still felt for Violet and that could only mean problems.

 

 

“I have to talk to Violet.” I said to myself heading back to the pool.

Kyle’s POV

 

 

I sighed for the umpteenth time that day as I watched Violet splash around with Anna and the others in the pool. It surprised me that I, the master player could fall so hard for a girl who unfortunately was now dating my cousin.

 

 

I was happy for them truly. I just couldn’t help but wish that it was Violet and Kyle not Violet and Dylan.

 

 

But it didn’t matter. As long as she was happy, I was happy..

 

 

“Hey fish brain.” Kacey said, taking her seat beside me.

 

 

“Why aren’t you in the pool or busy trying to woo girls like those two?” She said, pointing to Xavier and Xander.

 

 

“I dunno. Not in the mood I guess.”

 

 

“You Kyle Tanner? Not in the mood for girls? Are you sure you’re the real Kyle?” She asked, shooting me an ‘imposter’ look.

 

 

“Of course I’m the real Kyle Missy. I’ve just got a lot on mind I guess.”

 

 

Just then, Dylan appeared and drew Violet away from the pool before leaving with her a few minutes later.

 

 

My eyes followed them until they left. I shook my head to remove all the thoughts that had crossed my mind before bringing my attention back to Kacey.

 

 

“I suppose you should know how I feel seeing as the people we love are dating each other.”

 

 

“Uh yeah I guess so.” She stuttered, looking away.

 

 

“What do you mean ‘you guess so’? Have you gotten over Dylan that fast?”

 

 

“Not really… It’s just what’s the use of hoping for something that may never be, you know?”

 

 

“I guess so but just tell me, is there someone else?”

 

 

“No. Not really… I mean I don’t know.”

 

 

“Uh oh! You’re stuttering… Which means there is someone else. Who is it? Come on, tell me.”

 

“There’s no one else, Kyle. For now, at least.”

 

 

“You know you can’t lie to me Kacey. Who is it?”

 

 

“There’s no use telling you Kyle. He likes someone else.”

 

 

“Oh really? Is it someone I know? Maybe I can help you someone, you know.” I said, winking.

 

 

“You kinda know him.”

 

 

“Is he in this hotel at least?”

 

 

“Yeah. He is.”

 

 

I looked around. Apart from Anna, Jayden, Xander, Xavier and the two girls they were flirting with then me, Kacey and two other guys who were talking, there was no one else with us.

 

 

“Is it one of them?” I asked, gesturing towards the two guys.

 

 

“No. Of course not Kyle.” She said glaring .

 

 

“Jeez! So-orry!” I said with a huff.

 

 

I looked around and decided. It couldn’t be Dylan or Jayden who was now with Anna leaving only Talen and I.

 

 

I already knew for a fact that it wasn’t me so I supposed that it was Talen who seemed to already be into Riley, his friend. I concluded that it was him in my mind and looked back to her with a smile.

 

“Don’t worry kiddo. You’ll find another.”

 

 

“Stop calling me ‘kiddo’ Kyle. You know I hate it.”

 

 

“You got it…kiddo!” I muttered the last part under my breath on my way back to my room but she heard.

 

 

“Kyle!” She screamed but I was already halfway up the stairs back to the hotel.

I was on my way to my room when I stumbled upon a guy and a girl having a conversation. They didn’t notice me since they were so engrossed in their conversation.

 

 

Not really one for gossip or eavesdropping, I was about to walk by them when I heard the guy say “We have to separate Dylan and Violet.”

 

 

That line caught me so I quickly found a place to hide, still eavesdropping on them.

 

 

“Well of course, we do.” The girl said in a ‘duh’ tone. “Dylan belongs with me and not with that b*tch.”

 

 

“Hey! Be careful how you talk about my girl!”

 

 

“Yeah. Whatever. How do we go about it though?”

 

 

“We destroy the most important thing in their relationship.”

 

 

 

“What’s that?”

 

 

“Trust Steph. Trust! You should know that.”

 

 

“Whatever Aaron! How do we do that?”

 

 

“Let’s talk about that somewhere else. Someone could overhear us.”

 

 

“Yeah right.” The girl, Stephanie replied.

 

 

I heard the tap of their feet against the floor and then they were gone.

 

 

I got out of my hiding place with only one thought on my mind.

 

 

I had to tell Violet and Dylan. I couldn’t let Aaron and Stephanie, whoever they were to destroy their relationship.

 

 

“I have to tell them…or do I?” I muttered to myself.

 

 

I mean if Aaron and Stephanie successfully destroy Violet and Dylan’s relationship, I can easily win her over.

 

Maybe I should let them…………
