Chapter seven
Ife pov
I can’t go back to school, I have to fake a sickness so I could be excused from school.
I got home and met my parent, laughing.
“U are home early?” My dad asked.
“I have my reason” I replied heading to my room.
“What happened to my beautiful daughter?” He asked.
“Don’t call me dat,” I said.
“Why? But my daughter is the most beautiful creature on earth” he continued.
“Well not everyone thinks like u, to some people am the most ugliest creature especially with my big mole” I shouted.
“Not everyone thinks like u, sometimes I just regret dat I was born” I said out of anger.
“Ife!” my mom called.
“What?” I shout.
‘I looked at my dad and he was already crying, oh my god what I have done’ I thought.
“Am sorry dad,” I said.
“Am sorry sometimes it’s just like the world is against me.”
“Sometimes I just feel like dying out of frustration.”
“If u are too slim, it is an insult if u have a scar and mole on ur face u look ugly. If u are too fat then u do not deserve to live.”
“Their words, their insults is enough to kill.”
“I keep dying everyday bcos of their insults, it is not my fault dat i was born like dis, that I don’t have curves or a perfect body like other girls.”
“I just want someone who will love me for who I am not what am I but I will never find such person bcos of my face and body.” I cried out of my pent up frustration.
My dad came to me and hugged me.
“It is going to be Ok,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter what other people thinks, to me u are the most perfect creature I have ever seen” he said comforting me.
“I love u” he said and hugged me tight.
“Same here,” I answered.
Victor pov
“U are the worst,” the word keeping ringing in my head.
She has never been angry at me to the extent of slapping me.
Are the words, I said too much? I don’t even know if she truly threw herself at the new boy.
But the kiss, of course he could have kissed her without her knowledge.
I must have hurt her, I felt annoyed at myself.
Ife is not dat kind of girl.
I wish I could apologize to her but she is not here.
‘What have I done?’ I thought.
But what Ife said about Esther is it true?
Is Esther really cheating on me?

Ife pov
I couldn’t go to school the next day bcos of yesterday’s incident.
I just want to forget about everything.
The insult and the pains and most especially the kiss.
Someone knocked on the gate.
I wonder who is it?
My parent won’t be around till tomorrow.
So who could it be?
I went to the gate and opened it.
It was the last person I excepted to see.
“What are u doing?” I asked.
Esther pov
(In her uncle bar parlor)
“What are u doing here?” I asked lekan.
“Come on, dis is not my first time coming here” he said.
“Then I was not dating Vic, I have already told you we can’t keep doing dis, I need Vic if am going to get a position in the school” I said.
“Vic almost found out about our secret yesterday, if he catches us with everything and break up with me. I won’t forgive u” I threatened.
“Chilax girl, we have been doing dis for a long time and no one’s caught us not even ur uncle so everything is going to be fine.” he said and kissed me.
“Lekan” I said and yanked him away.
“Not here, I will meet u at the regular place” I said.
“But I need u” he said.
“Not here, Ok?” I said and left him behind.
Lekan and I have been dating since I was 14.
He was the one who recommended oba school to me and dat was how I met vic. I won’t say I like Vic but, I know I need him desperately if I don’t want to be kicked out by my uncle.
To my uncle, getting a position in school is important something I have never done before.
And there is a big chance Vic is going to be the head prefect bcos he is brilliant and close to the teachers.
I don’t want to miss my chance of becoming one, am brilliant, maybe not as brilliant as vic and Ife but I need a prefect position at school.
Ife pov
“What are u doing here?” I asked.
“I came to apologize,” he said.
“For what, for saying I tried to sell my body to junior, or calling me a liar?” I asked.
“Am sorry I know I was wrong, I shouldn’t have said dat to u” Vic said.
“U don’t have to apologize, u were right anyway” I said.

Whenever he calls my name like dat, I feel butterflies in my stomach.
“Am really sorry” he said.
“Ok, apologies accepted” I said.
“Thanks,” he said and pulled me for a sudden hug and my heart fluttered.
“Ok,” I said and pulled away.
“Thanks so much” he said and smiled.
Who won’t fall for dis guy?
“Let me make it up to u by taking you out, a friend of mine is having a party. Just a small party so we should go there together” he said.
“U could just go with ur gf” I said and rolled my eyes.
“Come on, u said u are no longer angry” he said.
“Ok, I will go get ready” I said and entered the house.
I pick a high waist trouser with a black tan top, pack my hair in desirable style and my black sneakers touched with a hint of blue.
I applied a dark lip stick.
And put on my jacket.
“Am ready,” I said to Vic and he looked at me surprised.
Vic pov
“Am ready” she said and I looked at her.
She looked so beautiful, I felt like kissing her but, I can’t do it bcos she is my friend and I have a girlfriend.
“U look beautiful” I complimented her.
“Thanks, let go” she said.
She locked the house and we left.
We arrived at the party around 5, it was not really a big party.
My friend Shola just wants to have some friends over since his parent are gone on a trip and not coming till 14 days after.
“Am nervous,” Ife said while I scoffed at her words.
“Don’t be, am sure u are more beautiful than the girls here” I said and she blushed.
“Hey man,” I called Shola as I sight him.
“Hi guy,” he said and shook my hand.
“Hi,” he said to ife looking her up with an expression of lust.
“Hi” she smiled.
“You look beautiful” he said while ife smiled and I felt jealous.
I cleared my throat trying to have their attention.
“Is she ur gf?” He asked.
“N….. “Ife was about to say but I Interrupted.
“Yes, she is” I said while ife looked at me surprised.
“U have good eyes” he said and I smiled.
“Let go join the others” he said.
“Hey guys we have new people in the house” he said and both me and ife sat next to each other.
“Ok!” a girl said. “We are playing a game of truth or dear. Here are the rules, if u fail to do what u are asked to do, then u will have to drink two shot of alcohol.”
“We go around asking things from each other till it’s your turn” she said.
“If anyone asked u a question dat means u are the next to asked someone else.” “So who is the next person to ask a question?” The girl asked.
“I” shola said.
He was sitting next to me.
“Ok vic, truth or dare” he asked.
“Dare” I said.
“I dare u to kiss the girl next to u” he said and smirked.
I looked at the person next to me and it was my best friend.
“No, we can’t do dat” ife said fanning herself.
“U do it or face the penalty” shola said.
“Vic do something,” ife said while I starred at her lips.
I definitely want to taste dat lips again but she is my best friend.
“Come on man” shola said.
“Shit” I murmured.
I can’t miss dis opportunity.
I move closer to ife and kissed her by surprised.
While everyone laughs.
She stayed frozen for a minute but respond back to the kiss.
We were tongue kissing, my hands went on her tummy moving all the way to her chest.
“Get a room” shola shouted and ife pushed me away.
She stood up and ran out.
I did the same.
“Ife, come on it was just a game” I said and she stopped and turned to me.
“What exactly are we?” She asked.
“What do u mean?” I asked not so sure.
“Don’t pretend Vic” she said.
“The other day u kissed me, today u took me out instead of ur gf then u called me ur gf now dis” she said.
“Why do u keep pretending?” She said. “I need to know where I stand” she said. “So tell me now, what are we?” She asked. “Are we friends or lovers?” “Friends or lovers?” She asked.
