Dylan POV

It’s a Tuesday day morning , work today is so tiring , from one meeting to another

Danielle is indeed a hard worker , I can’t believe she always handled all of this and yet still keep up with the chores at home.

I just came back from skynet tower , we struck a multi billion dollars deal with them and it was successful ,.

Danielle couldn’t come so I was her representative and luckily she got the deal if tho it wasn’t easy to convince them to trust us with the deal.

I went to her office but she was yet on seat I was told by that flirty secretary that she was in an important meeting with Mrs Smith an investor in the conference room.

I went back to my office and slumped to the chair.

This is in deed good news for Danielle and the company.

My cellphone started ringing in my pocket, I brought it out and glance at the screen it was a call from my sister what does she want now ?

I hesitated before picking up

Dylan where are you? You need to come right away to city hospital” she said hastily without waiting for me to say anything.

Calm down sis what’s going on besides am at work” I asked .

Please Dylan for the sake of God come to the hospital right away ” she said and hang up before I could ask any further questions

But would be going on in city hospital that she wants me to be there.

My heart became troubled immediately as I thought of so many possibilities , I stood up and rushed out but not before telling the secretary the good news.

She should be able to deliver it to my boss Incase I don’t come back on time.

I boarded a taxi and headed straight for the hospital as I thought about so many things.

I hope Lauren is alright ? If anything happens to her I won’t forgive myself she’s the only one have got.

The taxi stopped infront of the hospital , I paid him and rushed inside

Lauren stood impatiently by the receptionist waiting for me.

“What’s going on Lauren why did you bring me down here in such a quick notice .

Am sorry Dee but there’s someone who would like to talk to you” she said and walked ahead of me

I followed her till we stopped infront of a ward ,she pushed open the door and gesture for me to go inside.

I looked at her before walking in .

What I saw shocked me to the bone.

“Vinnie?” I whispered audibly

She was laying down with a life supporter fixed to her system

So many wires were connected to her body .a oxygen mask was on her nose.

I rushed to her side and held her hand which was paled now..

“Vinnie Vinnie look at me am here ” I muttered as my eyes watered .

A tears excaped her eyes and roll down her cheeks.

She managed to pull off the mask even though she was gasping for air.

She tried to say as she gasps more for air

The machine started beeping . Lauren and some other nurse rushed in immediately “Step aside Dylan” Lauren said as they rushed to her.

They were trying so hard to stabilize her but it was getting worst

I went out and stood by the door watching them , the machine eventually stopped beeping as Lauren let out a sob.

They started removing all the wires connected to her body and used the bed sheet to cover her .that was when I realized she is gone.

No no it’s not possible !!! So this was what she meant when she called me.

I slumped to the ground as I cried like a child , even tho she used me I won’t deny the fact that I still feel something for her.

She was my first love the girl who made me so happy.

No Vinnie you can’t just leave like that.

Lauren came out and console me even though she’s trying so hard not to break down.

Vinnie has been her best friend since fourth grade till date.

They’re inseperatable ,more like twins the wicked jaws of death just took her away.

“How did this happen sis ” I managed to ask.

“She drank some dangerous lab chemicals which destroyed all her system , there was nothing we could do to save her ” Lauren said as she wiped her tears.
