Sapphira’s POV
I entered into Lord Andrew’s palace..
The elders and my parents were already seated..
They must have been waiting for my arrival a long time ago..
I moved over to mum to say “hi”..
“Stop there!!” Lord Andrew’s hoarse voice made me halt..
“Why did you take much time? We’ve been waiting for you all this while” He barked..
“I..I..” I stuttered but he cut me off..
“Forget about that! Did you kill him?” He asked smiling..
“I..I..”
“What’s wrong? You killed him right?”
I kept mute,I don’t even know how to tell them the bad news..
“Why is she quiet? Pumpkin make your daughter talk before I loose my temper”
I played with my fingers as everyone kept on staring at me with great expectations..
Pheew! They’ll be disappointed when they found out that I didn’t just spare corovi,I also fell in love with him..
Have I really done the right thing?
“Saph baby! why aren’t you saying anything” mum softly asked..
“Mum..I’m..I’m sorry” I cried with my face slightly bowed..
“But what’s wrong?” Mum asked confused..
“Saph! Saph!! Are you hurt?” Jeffrey asked rushing in, to me..
Shit! Why did he come in?
I looked up and I could see shock boldly written on their faces..
“Why did you come in?” I whispered..
“I thought you were in danger”
“Fuck! But we agreed that you’ll only come in when you hear me whistle”
“Yeah I know! But what could I have done? I heard your cries, so I rushed in- thinking they were hurting you”
“I’m okay but I don’t think things will be fine after now”I sadly said..
“Don’t worry I’m here with you”
“Omg! She brought him alive”
“They’re even whispering to themselves”
“Oh my! Could it be that they’re in love?”
They murmured…
“What’s going on here?” Lord Andrew roared..
The whole kingdom trembled at the sound of his voice..
Fear gripped me at the sight of his eyes which was now red with anger..
“Answer me!!” He barked..
I fell on my knees with my head bowed..
Jeffrey looked at me and did the same..
“Please forgive me my lord! I couldn’t kill him because I love him” I cried ..
There was an uproar..
“You what??” Lord Andrew asked..
“I…I..love Jeffrey and he loves me too” I said trembling in fear..
“Tsh! You gat to be kidding me” he scoffed..
But I kept quiet..
“How can the chosen one fail her own? Why did she take our trust in her for granted?” Lord Andrew groaned..
immediately, everything made of glass in the palace crashed to pieces and everyone adjusted in fear.
“We trusted you! How could you go ahead and betray us without thinking twice?” One of the elders said..
“We haven’t seen our Lord this angry and today he couldn’t even control his own anger because of you”Another said..
“I knew it! I told them that you shouldn’t be trusted but no one was willing to listen..Now look where our useless believe in you has gotten us into”
“I regret ever trusting a riff raff like you” Another added..
“How dare ” Jeffrey tried to say but I cut him off..
“Please don’t say anything..I think I deserve more insults than this” I whispered..
“But it isn’t your fault”
“Just let it go” I insisted..
“You shouldn’t have done this! You didn’t do the right thing” Lord Andrew sadly said..
“Please don’t be mad at her,it’s not her fault..she loves me and I love her too” Jeffrey said..
“Just shut up, you bloody liar..I’ll make you pay for all the pains you’ve caused the humans” Lord Andrew yelled..
“But he’s changed ..he’s now a good person” I said..
“I don’t give a damn about that! I want you to take that sword you’re holding and pierce his heart right now” he commanded..
