“Calm down, Ann calm down” Patricia pats her back.
“Mum is this real?” She asked fearfully.
“Yes it is real Ann am with you what happened?” Patricia asked.
“This man”, she said pointing to the dibia “is one of the people I see in my dreams”.
“What?” They exclaimed.
“He is among the people I use to see when ever I found myself in the throne room”.
“What?” Her family exclaimed again.
“But Ann you never told us anything about the throne or whatsoever” Patricia said.
“Yes mum I didn’t tell you guys but it’s all started when we came here” she explained.
“Igwe welcome to the kingdom my princess” the dibia bowed respectfully.
“Cut that man, am curious how come I see you in my dreams how come?”.
“I don’t know either but it the works of the gods, to bring you back am one of the chiefs of this kingdom and am also among the priest”.
“Oh” Ann muttered.
“Wise one she’s here now what next?” Granny asked.
“She has to go back to her rightful home which is the palace, the throne has been vacant for many years” the dibia inform them.
“What do you mean vacant, you mean to tell me that there’s no king in this kingdom?” Richard asked suprised.
“Yes,no one is allowed to sit on the throne because” the man was saying when Ann interrupted him.
“The king made a blood oath to protect the princess and his legacy”.
“My princess how do you know?” The dibia asked.
“I was told by a woman in my dreams” she shrugged.
“May the gods of our land be praised” the dibia said looking towards the sky.
“You will meet us at the palace tomorrow,am going to have a meeting with the chiefs of this kingdom so as to start preparation for the coronation, do you know your way to the palace?”.
“Yes I know”.
“Who took you there?” Granny asked.
“Myself” she replied “but what if I don’t want to sit on the throne?”.
“Abomination!!!” The dibia thundered, “this is your destiny dear princess you have to take over the throne”.
“Huh ok, I get you, but you don’t have to to yell at me” she snapped glaring at the dibia.
“Am sorry my princess” the dibia apologized.

“Bella the shit is real,am really the princess of this kingdom” she told her sister after they came back from the dibia house.
“Hmm” Bella sighed.
“What will happen to us when you take over the throne? I will miss you so much”.
“I will too Bella”.
“Huh this is so annoying” Bella suddenly exclaimed.
“Sis what’s wrong?”.
“I will not be able to smack or beat you again and I will not be able to call you your name again, I will go by all these your highness stuff it’s annoying” Bella pouted.
Ann burst out laughing.
“What? So you finally admit that you use to smack me right? Bella I love you my status or my position doesn’t change anything okay I will just miss your crazy ass” she said pulling Bella into a hug.
THE NEXT DAY
Ann dressed for the palace and she met her parents by the door looking gloomily.
“Mum! Dad! What’s wrong?” She asked worriedly.
“Am going to miss my little baby” Patricia cried.
“Oh mum” she cried.
“What is going to happen when you acend the throne?” Richard asked.
“Dad! Mum! I love you both nothing has changed am still your daughter, your favorite child, your sweetie and your sunshine throne or no throne you both are the best parents I could ever ask for, you treated me right as your own what more do I want,(this story is written by Labby) I love you both and am not gonna forget you” she said engulfing them into a hug.
“Go well my child” granny said as she walked out of the house.

Six men including the priests sat in the front of the throne discussing with serious and happy expression on their faces.
“My chiefs am happy to announce to you that the princess has been found” Chief Itolu informed the crew.
“Yes the Oracle attested to it she has been has been found after eighteen years of searching.
“Lawson thanks for bringing back your daughter, now I can breathe in peace” Chief Anderson exclaimed happily.
“What’s wrong?”.
“The first son has been disturbing me to get married to his daughter Unice and since then I can’t breathe normally”.
“Hmm” they all sighed.
“Yes he is the princess betrothed and they want to get him killed wicked people” Chief Mazi spat.
“We thank the gods, they’re a life saver” Chief Anderson said gratefully.
“Now let us meet the princess we have all been waiting for” the dibia announced as they open the door and Ann steps inside the room.
She was clad in a blue flowing gown,her head, neck, ears and hands were adorned with beads. The gown she wore had no shoulder so beads were emboldered into a small blouse that she wore on the gown,she held a horsetail. She looks so adorable and like the princess she was.
Ann stared at the unfamiliar faces staring lovingly at her her heart thumped furiously in it cage.
She breaths a sigh of relief when her gaze met with that of Chief Anderson, she was happy,she smiled sweetly at him.
The chiefs couldn’t get their eyes off her.
Chief Anderson was so surprised ‘like his son’s girlfriend is the princess?’ he asked himself.
His eyes met with hers and she smiled sweetly at him.
“IGWE” they all bowed as she sat down on one of the chairs in the room.
“But how come?” Chief Anderson asked when he couldn’t keep his thoughts any longer.
“I was adopted” she said simply.
“Do you know you are a princess?” He asked.
“No I didn’t I just find out yesterday” she shrugged.
The other chiefs were suprised at how Anderson was able to talk to her as it seems awkward talking to someone they had seen last since the past eighteen years.
“Do you two know each other?” Chief Itolu asked.
“Yes” Anderson answered “she is Max’s girlfriend”.
“Wow you mean the princess is your son’s girlfriend?” Mazi asked wide eyed.
“Yes any problem?” Ann asked softly, worried that the kingdom will not approve her relationship with Max.
“No problem at all, but do you know that this boyfriend of yours is your betrothed” Chief Itolu informed.
“Boyfriend! Betrothed!” Ann muttered with furrowed eye brows then she suddenly remembered that Max has always talk about a princess of his land whom he was betrothed to.
“Wait? Is my name Marietta?” She asked.
“Yes my princess your names are Marietta Adaobi Lawson”.
“Wow” Ann says as she use her hands to cover her mouth “I can’t believe this” she muttered.

“Max where is your mum?” Chief Anderson called happily when he got home.
“Am here honey” his mother replied walking into the garden.
“Max how is Annabelle, do you hear from her? Did she tell you anything?” Anderson asked again.
“Yes I just finished calling her few minutes ago, she tell me anything”.
“Oh ok” Anderson beamed.
“But dad why the sudden attention on my girlfriend, you guys didn’t want any body for me remember?” He said and his mum nodded in agreement.
“The princess has been found” Anderson exclaimed happily.
“What!” His mum yelled happily.
“Oh” was all he could say, he wasn’t happy because Marietta’s appearance will end things between him and Annabelle and he wasn’t ready to let her go he loved her.
“Son what’s wrong aren’t you happy your betrothed is back” his mum asked.
“Yes am happy mum” he forced a smile “am out of here” he said standing up.
“Idiot won’t you wait for the complete gist” his dad called after him.
“What is there to hear again,I don’t want you guys to lecture me on how I will break up with my girlfriend” he said sadly.
“What if I tell you that your girlfriend is your betrothed” Anderson says using the same words Chief Itolu used earlier.
“What?” Both Max and his mother exclaimed.
“You mean to tell me that both Ann and Marietta are the same” his mum asked guilty.
“Yes my dear that’s why I always tell you to be careful with the way you treat people” Anderson replied.
“Oh God” Choima exclaimed.
“So dad you mean to tell me that Ann is betrothed, you mean to tell me that she is the lost princess?” He asked smiling widely.
“Yes she’s the lost treasure that we were looking for”.
“Thank God”, he breaths a sigh of relief.
