Violet’s POV
“Oh it’s nothing darling. We just have something really important to tell you.”
“Okay? Spill then.”
They glanced at each other before looking back at me and then Mom dropped the bomb.

“Violet, your dad and I saw Aaron today and it got us thinking… And we decided that you two should get married after college.”
“WHAT!?!? You’re kidding right!? Tell me you’re kidding!”
“We’re not Violet. We’ve already talked with his parents and they agree. It’ll be good for business.”
I scoffed. “Of course it is.”
“What’s the need for the attitude young lady? You’re getting married to him. It’s not like we’re selling you to the highest bidder.”
“That’s exactly what you’re doing.” I retorted.
“We’re only doing what’s best for you. Besides it’s only Aaron. You two have dated before so what exactly is the problem?”
“Uh the problem is Aaron and I broke up years ago because he’s a backstabbing no good son of a b*tch and I am not marrying him not now, not ever!”
“You are marrying him after college and that’s final! Do you understand?” My dad said authoritatively.
I glanced at him and then my mom before I left without saying a single word.

“Argh!!” I yelled stepping into my room and closing the door heavily behind me not bothering that it was late.
How dare my parents engage me to that bastard, Aaron? As usual, all they care about is their business. It’s all been that way. And now that my life is finally on track, they have the guts to engage me to Aaron….
Heck no! No! No! No! No f*cking way! This will not stand.
“F*cking mom and dad.” I muttered to myself, running my hand through my hair.

Morning came and I prepared myself to start the day, deciding to put the issue of Aaron and my parents aside only to step outside and find Aaron waiting for me.
“You! What are you doing here?” I snarled.
“I came to talk to you… I take it you already know about our parents’ plans to get us married after college.”
“Yes and I’m sure you’re very happy right now, aren’t you? Well I just want you to know that I’m never going to marry you. I don’t care what my parents say. I am not marrying you.”
“I know and I’m going to get the wedding called off.”
“Wait what!? You’re kidding right?”
“No I’m not. I love you Violet and I’m sorry for everything I’ve ever done to you. I truly am and I want us to get back together but I know this isn’t the way so I’ll convince my parents to call it off. I promise.”
“You’ll really do that?”
“Yes I will.”
“Okay then. Thanks… Ronnie.”
“Bye Vi. I’d best be on my way. Your boyfriend is coming.”
He pecked me and turned and left just before Dylan hugged me from behind.
“Good morning pretty.”
“Good morning Dylan.”
“Mind telling me what Aaron was trying to do this time?”
“Oh that! Sure. It’s a long story though.”
“I’m listening…”
I smiled and grabbed his hand and began walking towards the resort restaurant.

Aaron’s POV
“Hey you.” I heard behind me on my way back to my room.
“Oh hey Steph.”
“Hey. Saw you talking to Violet and I’m pretty sure I heard marriage.”
“Yeah. Her parents and mine want us to get married.”
“Oh my gosh! That’s excellent. Once you two get married, I can easily get Dylan back. You’re brilliant!”
“No no. You don’t get it Steph. I’m not getting married to her.”
“You just said you were.”
“I said so but I’m going to tell my folks to call off the wedding.”
“What? Why?”

I sighed. “I’ve given it some thought and I’ve decided that maybe Dylan and Violet belong together.”
“What!! You’re giving up? But we’re so close.”
“No Steph. We’ll only end up hurting ourselves and them. Maybe they don’t belong to us.”
“No! No! I’m not agreeing to that! Dylan belongs to me and me alone. I don’t care what you think. Argh! You’re so annoying.” She yelled before stomping away.
I shook my head before entering my room and dialling my dad’s
number……..
