Violet’s POV
“Hey Vi. ” He said as I took my seat beside him.
“Dylan, what are you doing here? ” I asked trying to mask my surprise.
“Paying you a visit. Isn’t it obvious? ”
“How did you find this place? ”
“Well, I may or may not have followed you. ”
“You did what!? ”
“Calm down Vi. I just really had to talk to you. ”
“Okay. What about? ”
He sighed.
“So you know Kacey? ”
“Yeah. The girl you couldn’t stop talking about. What about her? ”
“Well she’s my girlfriend and we just broke up… ”
“Okay? What’s my part in this? ”
“Well I need you to be my girlfriend. ”
“Wait what!? ”
“Listen, it’s not real or anything. We’ll just have to pretend for a while… ”
“Why? ”

“Okay look, Kacey seems to think that she owns me which was the real reason I broke up with her in the first place. Now she’s acting as though she’s okay with it even though I know for a fact that she’s not. She’s just expecting me to beg her like I always do so my plan is to show her that I can survive without her which is where you come in. ”
“Okay but why me? ”
“Well, most girls will end up taking it seriously but I know you won’t. ”
“Okay then. I guess I can pretend to be your girlfriend but just until Kacey sees the light or whatever. ”
“Definitely…. So are you really dating Kyle? ”
“Of course not… I don’t know whatever made him say so. ”
He smiled.
“I thought so. You and my cousin could never fit. ”
“Wait, you’re cousins? ”
“Yeah. He’s the annoying brother I always mentioned in Missouri. ”
“I can see the annoying part…. Shoot! I almost forgot. ”
“What is it? ”
“I have a date with that annoying ‘brother’ of yours. ”
“Really? Are you going? ”
I thought about for a while.
“Nahhh! ”
He laughed
“Wanna binge watch on SpongeBob? ”
“Sure.”
“Let’s go then. ” I said turning on the TV, all thoughts of Kyle extinguished.

❌Kyle’s POV❌
I was evidently mad as I marched through the hallway searching for Violet. How dare she ditch me yesterday? What the hell is wrong with the girl?
“Hey you! ” I said through gritted teeth as I stared at her, arms akimbo.
“Good morning Kyle. How are you today? ” She asked perkily.
“Don’t you dare! Why didn’t you show up yesterday? ”
“Yesterday? What was going on yesterday? ”
“We had a date yesterday and you didn’t show up. ”
“Oh that! ”
“Yes that! Why didn’t you show up? ”
“Maybe because I realized I didn’t need to be there to show you that I don’t give a damn about you. ”
“So I was right. You are scared. You are scared of falling for me. ”
She sighed.
“Whatever Kyle! Like I said, I don’t give a damn. ”
All of a sudden, I received a shock when Dylan appeared out of nowhere and pecked Violet on her cheek.
“Hey babe. ” Violet said smiling at him as he slid an arm around her waist.
At that point, my jaw dropped.
“Wait, did you just call him “babe”? ” I asked in shock.
“Yeah I did. ”
“Why? ”
“Because we’re dating now. ”
“Hold on a sec. You’re WHAT!?!?!?! ” A familiar voice exclaimed.
I turned to the side just as Kacey came in view, her face as red as can be.
This is not going to be good.
