“He’s awake”

 

 

 

“He is?”

 

 

 

“He’s awake!”

 

 

 

Mom knelt beside me on the hospital bed and we both watched with high hopes as Austin’s lashes fluttered once more and then opened partially before he shut them again, trying to adjust to the light

 

 

 

“Austin!” I screamed in excitement and took his hand,inter-twining my fingers with his. Mom rubbed his hair back gently as she shed tears of joy. His eyes fluttered again before he finally opened them. God knows how much I’ve missed seeing those pretty dark-brown eyes of his

 

 

 

“Mom?” He whispered with a cracked voice and I cried as I kissed his palm while mom stood to sit beside him and hug him right there on the hospital bed .

 

 

 

Julie started making baby noises and I knew that even she, wanted to see her big brother. I carried Julianna up and placed her to sit on the bed beside Austin. She giggled and reached for his face immediately while I drew her back a bit before she got her fingers into his eyes.

 

Doctor Ken entered just then. Yeah..Austin had been transferred to his hospital

 

“He’s awake” He said, smiling widely at us while I went in for a hug

 

 

 

“I gotta call Paul and Zoe” I disengaged from the hug. Doctor Ken moved to the bed in grins,to check on Austin while I went for my phone lying on one of the chairs in the room. I think I gotta dial Mitchie too. I doubt that their friendship will ever be the same again,but Mitchie deserves to know Austin’s awake…Dylan too.

 

I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy all my life…

Two Days Later…

 

 

 

I waited outside the police station as Austin concluded his discussion with Mitchie and Dylan. Mom and Officer Thomas including few other cops were present too.

 

After the whole shaking of hands and all, Mitchie and Dylan stood. Austin did too and mom followed suit. Soon,they were approaching the cab I was leaning on. It was chartered, actually.

 

 

 

“Sis” Austin called as soon as they got close enough and I gave a little yelp as he unexpectedly pulled me in for a hug “You silly pig head”..He murmured,almost crushing my bones in the hug as he rubbed my hair.

 

 

 

I giggled…

 

 

 

“Don’t ever do that again”

 

 

 

“What?”

 

 

 

“Stalking..Spying… Whatever. I can’t believe you went after Tony”

 

 

 

“Hmm…Coming from the spy master himself” I laughed and he joined in too. I know Austin can’t easily say it even though he so much wants to say it right now,but I know that he loves me way too much and I love him too

 

 

 

“I love you, sis” He said unexpectedly and I gasped. He disengaged from the hug but still held my shoulders “But you’re never gonna risk your life like that again”

 

 

 

I smiled ” I love you too,bro…But you should also try not to get involved with bad dudes ever again”

 

 

 

“And even if I do, you’re not gonna get involved”

 

 

 

“Oh yeah?” I laughed

 

 

 

“I’ll personally make sure of that” He drew me in for another hug and I gladly obliged.

It’s August 28 and today Austin’s graduating from high school. After everything,Emily had travelled out but not before she was almost torn apart by Mitchie. Tony Parker is in jail. Dad is only allowed to visit once in five months. Hey..Austin gave that rule, not me. He should count himself lucky that Austin even agreed to that.

 

 

 

“Hey, Soph” My door opened and Maliya poked her head in. Ok so Maliya’s Austin’s girlfriend. Yeah,he finally got a girlfriend. She’s American… extremely cute and I like her..”Austin’s gonna eat up your cupcakes if you don’t come down this minute”

 

 

 

“I told you,Liya!..She hates cupcakes!” Austin’s voice sounded from downstairs.

 

 

 

Whaaaaaat???!!!!

 

 

 

“Don’t you dare,Austin!!” I yelled and jumped down from my bed as Maliya giggled. We both ran downstairs and into the kitchen

 

“Shoosh” I dragged Austin’s left ear while Maliya took the right one and we both led him away from my precious cupcakes, laughing

 

 

 

“That hurt!” He whined, pouting.

 

I took Julianna from mom who just entered at that moment with Austin’s graduation cake. I placed her on the counter

 

 

 

“Julie” I called “Don’t you ever follow Austin’s ways when it comes to my cupcakes,okay?”

 

 

 

“Okay” Julie said in a babyish manner and giggled as she reached out and dug her hands into one of my cupcakes nearby

 

 

 

“Julie!!” I yelled, and laughed at the same time with every other person in the room.
