I really felt bad for Aria but what could I have done? What they did was bad.
I can’t believe she did all that just for money.
I looked around the room and couldn’t believe how fortunate I am.
I’m with my family and a friend who would never betray me for anything in this world.
And I have my granny back, I’m really grateful.

“Granny.” I whispered.
“My problem queen.” He chuckled.
“You’re back. Thanks granny.”
“Didn’t i tell you that I will never leave you?”
“You did and am glad you did came back.” I hugged him tight and wept.
“Hey! big sis! That’s enough.” Marion appeared in front of us and tried to pull us apart.
We separated from the hug and I looked down at him.
“Don’t give him all the hug sissy. It’s not fair, you don’t know how long I’ve waited for you to come back.” He said with open arms.
I ruffled his hair, bend to his level ans hugged him.
He’s my brother,my very own brother.
“Thanks for accepting me unconditionally. You accepted me without a second thought. Thank you bro.” I whispered and kissed his hair.
“What kind of a brother will i be if I can not recognize my own sister.” He whispered back.
“I love you.” I mouthed.
He separated from the hug and stared at me wide eyed.
“You love me?”
I nodded.
“I love you too. Like a lot.” He said and demonstrated with his hands.
I stared at him with smiles and he gave a wider grin.
“Thanks Mr Tobias Darvis, for taking care of our little angel.

“Don’t say that Madam. It’s was my pleasure doing so.” Granny replied.
I looked around the room and when my eyes found whom they were looking for, I ran to her.
When you are up in life your friends get to know who you are. When you are down in life you get to know who your friends are.
There will be many people who will be great to be around when times are easy.
Instead I take note of the people who remain in my life when times are hard.
The friends that are willing to sacrifice their time and the resources they have in their life to help improve yours.
Those are the real friends. A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
Mine is Betsy. She’s simply the best. If you get a friend like her, then hold on tight.
Don’t let her go.
Betsy. I kissed her on the cheeks.”I’ve missed you Betsy.”
“I did to. I almost died when you were no where to be found.” “You’re so good to me Betsy. I can’t explain how grateful I am.” “Stop it will you?” She chided.
“By the way, your kids miss you. They haven’t stopped asking of you ever since you disappeared.”
“Awww. I’m gonna visit them soon. Infact I’ll follow you back to Palau in order to see them.” I said.
“That won’t be needed my little fairy. ” Amy said.
When did she get close to us and did she hear our conversation?
“What.. did ..you mean please?” I asked nervously.
It’s was easy talking with the others but with her, I just can’t help being a bit nervous.
“Give me a big hug first” she demanded.
I nodded in response and she instantly engulfed me in a warm hug.
I tensed a bit before relaxing.
“So now tell me what you wanted to say.” I asked after the hug. “Well, the news is that you won’t be permitted to go with your friend.” My face dropped instantly. “Aww what’s with that face,?” She brought her hand under my chin and lifted it up.
You won’t be leaving because your kids are on their way here and you Betsy, you need not go back because your family will be in Queensland tomorrow. And Granny Toby wouldn’t have to go anywhere, he’s staying with us all. Happy?” She smiled kindly at me.
Goodness! This is the best news I’ve ever heard. I looked at Betsy and she was equally dazed as I am.
I looked around at the rest of my family and they were all smiling.
I shook my head vigorously and used my palms to cover my mouth in surprise.
“I’m more than happy. Wow! Thank you so much.” I quickly hugged her back.
“And that’s the smile I’ve always wanted to see on my little fairies face. I haven’t had the chance to do that because you were away from us but now that you’re back, am gonna spoil you rotten so prepare for it my fairy.” We parted and she cupped my face.
I shed unconscious tears.
“Thanks a million Auntie.” Betsy said happily.
“Don’t Betsy. What you did for my goddaughter is not a match to what I did. I will forever be grateful. I just can’t believe I had to pretend to like that impostor all this while.”
I removed her hand from my face.”You mean you knew all this while that I was Mariana and not Aria?”
She smiled and nodded,”How can I not recognize my own little fairy huh? I knew you were our own the moment I set my eyes on you.”
“Wow. You fooled Aria and her mum all this while.” I said quietly.
“We had no choice.” She shrugged.
“We?”
“Yes Mari…Pearl.” she said.
“You all knew?”
“How can I not recognize my own daughter, what mother will that make me? Even if the the whole world revolt and tries to shield you from me, I will still recognize you, even if you came with a different face.” My mum said and wrapped her arm on my shoulder.
Soon the rest of the family gathered around me including Megan but Granny Florencia was still lurking behind.
“What father will that make me if I can’t identity my princess?” Dad said and moved to my other side and put an arm around me as well with a peck on my cheek.
“And I would’ve been the baddest and the worst of all uncles and godfather’s if I hadn’t recognize you despite all the traits you inherited from Pablo.” That was Daniel, he came forward and pinched my nose.
I giggled delightfully.
Amy wrapped an arm around Mum and Daniel joined.
My two wonderful grannies also came and followed the trend on Dad’s side after they both hugged me. Granny Toby also joined but one was still missing.
I have five grannies in all, one who’s my great grandma.
Amy signaled for Betsy to come join her at her side and she went.
“And I was the genius and the rare gem among all of them. I recognize you though I haven’t seen or spoken to you before. I think I deserve an accolade don’t you think Sissy?”
“Of course!” I exclaimed.”Tell me what do you want my cute little guy.”
He yawned.” I want to sleep with you in the same room today.”
I frowned slightly, I really wanted to sleep together with Betsy.
“What’s the hurry Marion? You’ll get to share the same bed now that she’s here. Now come, let mummy pick you up.”
Mum just saved me.
“I don’t want to be babysitted mum. I’m no longer a kid.” He said and went to stand beside Betsy and the trend continued. He looked small.
I watched him as he checked his wrist watch. He run to Megan who was also standing alone with his head low.
He must be feeling bad for what he did back at Palau but was that he’s fault?
Someone who looked like one of the cooks wheeled a beautiful and delicious
looking cake towards the middle of the big circle that we had created.
Then a table was also brought which was filled with wine glasses and a number of champagnes.
“It’s just five minutes left for the day to end. The time is 11:55pm now and before we gets into a new day, I would like to use this opportunity to apologise to my sister and my cousin for all the trouble I made her go through. I was so bad to her when we met in Palau and I will like to say am sorry. Really sorry!”
Megan’s voice boomed in the whole room but I couldn’t see him.
I looked around curiously and when I looked in front of me, he was standing there.
His face was a plethora of emotions I couldn’t decipher.
“Gosh, what are you doing you this naughty boy.” I held his ear and twisted it playfully.
“Who said i was mad at you in the first place? How can I be mad at that cute boy who bumped into me at the studio and at my school? Chill out Megan, I love you.” I went forward and hugged him.
He hugged me back as everyone began to clap.
“That’s enough Megan, stop being girlish now, it’s just two minutes to 12am.” Marion shouted and everyone chuckled.
“Remember me to spank you after this Marion.” Megan said jokingly.
“Since you’ve forgiven me, then accept this from me please.” He said and brought out two familiar necklaces.
It’s was the one I sold and the one I gave to Aria.
So that was what he went to take when he stopped the police men.
“This is wonderful. Thanks Megan.” I whisper-shouted.
“Allow me.” He said and I relaxed as he fixed them on my neck.
Everyone clapped once more then the countdown began.
Marion was the one who started and everyone followed.
I can’t explain how happy I am. Soon the fireworks began signifying the break of a new dawn, a new hope and a new life.
Dad and uncle Daniel moved to the table and the champagnes were popped. A glass was given to everyone which was filled with wine.
From the corner of my eye I saw dad walk to granny Florencia and gave her a glass of wine and walked her towards us.
Am glad he did. Granny can not be excluded in the celebration.
Mum joined dad at the middle and raised their glass in a toast.
“Here’s to the present — and to hell with the past! A health to the future and joy to the last!” Dad said raising his glass.
Here’s to a bright New DAY and a fond farewell to the old; here’s to the things that are yet to come, and to the memories that we hold. Mum concluded and we cheered.
I was made to cut the cake and there was merry making throughout.
“Time for a family hug!” Megan shouted.
We all came together and hugged . The best thing and the best day ever.
I could see granny Florencia chatting with the others cheerfully and freely.
Priceless sight.
And just before me, dad pulled mum to himself and claimed her lips.
“Eiewww! Gross.” I said and looked away.
I grabbed Betsy’s hand and we started walking from them.
“Hey princess! Don’t tell me you still hasn’t changed that policy of yours. Is it still 30 or 20?” Dad asked with a chuckle and pulled me back to where they stood.
“It’s still holds dad, 40 or 45 ain’t changing that.” I stated earning a chuckle from everyone else.
“Are you sure?” He asked and started tickling me.
I swatted his hand from mine and raced for the stairs. I couldn’t ran properly because of the gown and the heels so he soon caught up with me and picked me up bridal style.

I laughed uncontrollably because he was still tickling me. I wrapped my arms around his neck securely.
“Where’s my princess off to huh?”
“Bed.” I managed to say.
“Lemme tuck you in then.” He whispered in my ear as he climbed the stairs.
From behind I could see my mum coming with Marion who was already fast asleep on her shoulders.
It’s all a new life and beginning for my family and I.
Until last night, I was a poor lonely girl wandering around for some money to cure my granny but here I am now. The storm is over and all I could see was the sunshine.
I was being rewarded with so much happiness, so much joy that a little part of me thought that it’s was all too good to be true.
In all, everything happens for a reason and that reason leads you to another destiny.
Accept the fact that shit happened to teach you something, to push you to grow, and to encourage you to change.
Use this as a drive to successfully change yourself for the better.
Sometimes the uncomfortable things in life are there to teach us lessons because to go through a change of habit, we need to feel uncomfortable.
This is my little piece of perfection, my happily ever after. And though it won’t continue till eternity, I’m gonna hold on to every bit of it until my very last breath. I’ll live out my own little fantasy with all the people who are a part of it, surrounding myself with the ones I love.
