It a lie! Esther can’t be dead! That not true! David screamed as he rushed to Esther’s bed in the hospital,

 

Esther wake up, pls let go home, you promise to stay with me, you promise to grow old with me. You promise to love me forever, you promise me for better, for worst please stand up, David said as tears flows freely from his eyes. Esther plssss! The doctor and nurses dragged him away from Esther corpse, he fought back.. Leave me alone! Leave me! I want to talk to my wife, we came here together and we must leave together! He shouted as they dragged him away.

 

Esther’s mum on hearing the news of the death of her daughter fainted and her father cries like a baby, everybody was crying. It was a sad moment for everyone. David refused to go home, am staying with my wife, she is not dead, she is just asleep, he told everyone

 

His parent had to dragged him to their house, he couldn’t sleep through out the night. All what he was saying was “Esther is not dead”! He couldn’t eat for days, his father and step mother pitied him.

 

Friends, colleagues, and relatives came to visit him in his father’s house, he was given two month leave from office to mourn his wife.

 

David locked himself in his room, he refused to see anyone, he is either crying, talking to himself or scattering things in his room, his parents were so worried about him.

 

I hope he won’t harm himself, his father told his step mother.

 

God won’t allow that to happen.. His step mother prayed.

 

David was weak and tired as a result of denying himself of food and water for days, he talked to himself silently.

 

God why? What have I done wrong! Why did you take Esther away from me? You know how much we love ourselves, why? If I have sinned against you please forgive me, if have wronged you in any way, please have mercy, Lord please, return Esther to me, return her oh Lord, He cried all alone in his room.

 

He couldn’t sleep, all he could see was Esther’s image, his parents and friends tried to helped him move on, but he refused their help.

 

 

Few week after David lose his wife, he left his parent house and went home, the whole house speaks about Esther, the pictures on the wall, kitchen, bedroom, her clothes, the memories of Esther kept flashing back in his memory

 

David picked one of the picture after another, look at them and hugged them.. He

 

couldn’t sleep in the bedroom that night, he slept in the living room holding Esther

One faithful afternoon while he was at home, a friend of his name Fred from abroad came to visit him.

 

David am sorry, I heard about your wife’s death, ‘I can’t believe Esther is gone just like that, that is life David, you need to move on’, Fred said.

 

‘Humm.. Move on? How can I move on with life without Esther? She was my mother, my sister, my life, she was everything to me, life without her have been so terrible, Esther practically worships me. I really love her Fred.’ David wept

 

‘I know, it okay, but you know Esther won’t be happy seeing you this way either. Do you believed if she was alive she will be happy seeing you like this? You need to move on to make her happy wherever she is, you need to be strong.’ Fred said patting him

 

‘Thank so much Fred, I have heard you. How is your family over there?’ ‘We are all fine, my wife send her greeting.. My regards to her too’

David lived a lonely life after the departure of his wife, he stopped keeping friends,

 

both male and female, he stopped his parent from coming to his place to greet him,

 

he goes to work in the morning, come back late at night, looked at Esther pictures

 

and hugged them till he fell asleep.

Three years after David lose his wife he refused to remarry or think about any girl, his parent was so worried about him, so they invited him to their house one afternoon

 

‘David, I want you to remarry, I know you love your wife, but it been three years now, you need to move on and have children, you can’t remain like this forever’. his father said

 

 

‘That is true David, am also worried, the same way your father is worried, we want you to start thinking of how to remarry’. his step mother said to him .

 

‘Thank you dad and mum, I really appreciate your concern, but dad am sorry to tell you that am not ready to marry, I don’t even have the heart to love someone else’. ‘Are you telling me am not going to have grand children?’ His father asked angrily This is your wife, he said pointing to his step mother, if you want to have a grandchild, make your wife pregnant and let the child get married’.. David said as he stood up ready to leave for his house.

 

‘Are you talking to me like that?’ His father asked.

 

‘Am sorry dad, am not just ready.. I will call you later,’ he walked out

 

‘Please calm down, I know he will listen to us as time goes on, let give me some time to think about it’.. The step mother told her husband who was seriously boiling with anger.

 

David was confused and started having a change of mind on his decision not to marry again, people around him were all disturbing him to marry again.. His friends, relatives, colleagues, Parents. After giving it much thought, he decided to put it into consideration, but firstly he said he was going to pray about it.

 

David start praying for a second chance to marry again and God gave him a second chance and directed his step in marrying the right person

 

He met Juliana the fourth year after Esther’ death, they fell in love with each other, David was alive again after he met Juliana,

 

She was just like Esther, David thought within himself

 

Juliana’s office is not far from David’s office, this made them to see each every day..

 

David parent were happy to see their son alive again… They invited Juliana over and thanked her for coming into their son life.

 

Their wedding day was fixed and they had a low key wedding. Juliana move into David’s new house, and they live together happily.

 

One morning, Juliana was in the bedroom preparing for the day when she felt dizzy and started throwing up, David was worried about her and took her to the hospital Juliana was confirmed pregnant, David was so happy. He cancelled all his appointment for the day as he drove Juliana home to celebrate the good news

 

 

They informed their parent about the good news and they were also happy for them.

 

Juliana pregnancy was six month old when she was rushed to hospital by her neighbour as her husband was out of the house.

 

David heard the news from work because his neighbor called him and rushed to the Hospital.

 

He got to the hospital and was not allowed to see his wife, the doctor invited him to his office

 

‘Are you Mrs Juliana’s husband?’ the doctor asked ‘Yes, I am sir’

 

‘Sir, immediately your wife was admitted two hours ago, we have been attending to her, but am sorry to tell you that you need to transferred her to another standards hospital’ the doctor said with a concern look.

 

‘Why doctor? Are you telling me your hospital is not standards enough’. David said angrily

 

‘No sir, it just that your wife needs special attention and we don’t have the facilities

Juliana was transferred to another hospital immediately

 

David couldn’t go to work, he called his boss and told him he won’t be able to make it to work

 

First day, second day, David didn’t hear anything from the doctor and he was not allowed to see his wife either.

 

He was so scared and worried, on the third day, he was sitting down in the reception when a nurse came to call him. ‘Sir, the doctor wants to see you in his office’.

 

‘Okay, thank you’.. He rushed into the office as if he is being pursue.

 

‘Good afternoon sir,’ the doctor greeted him. ‘Good afternoon doctor, please what is happening here, how is my wife, why am I not allowed to see her?’ He said shouting

 

‘Calm down sir, I must tell you the truth, your wife’s health is very critical, am not sure if she can survive it, we are actually trying our best to save her and the baby, but anything can happen’.

 

‘Doctor, you mean there is probability of my wife not surviving?

 

Exactly sir, she might not.. Her case is getting worst everyday.

 

David was shocked, he buried his head in his hand..

 

God, what is happening again?
