I turned around in shock and head back to my car dumbly.
There’s no use of staying back.
I entered my car and put my head on the steering wheel. For the first time since the incident, I cried
What did I ever do to Jane?? I trusted her and she betrayed my trust, why’s she after my life!?
When my tears subsided, I drove home slowly causing other drivers to blare their horn angrily at me.
My career has end, well I’ve got passion for another thing, I’ll just have to work towards it.
I got back home and found Lily watching a TV series.
I was hired emotionally and physically.
I went over to Lily and sat besides her, putting my head on her shoulders.
“I thought I was going to fight them back buth they are always one way ahead of me.”
“What happened?” She asked
By the time I was through with narrating what happened, Lily was boiling in anger.
“She turned the public against you, we’ll do the same to her. First let’s watch the video that cunt did” she said angrily and picked up her phone she was beside her.
“I think I’ve found it” she said
I sat up straight and looked into her phone just as she clicked on the video.
There in the video, Jane was crying profusely and lamenting.
“Hello Chicago, I’m so sad right now. I just found out my best friend betrayed me, she betrayed my trust in her. Back in California, I caught her having sex with a man that’s supposed to be fiance and I came here to Chicago to heal. Gratefully, I found another man” she paused and cried even more ” but she snatched him away from me again! I know you all must be surprised because also I am, I can’t believe she can be so Inhumane. The lady in question is someone you all love so much. Her name, is………Tricia White. I’m so sorry guys, I know you think so highly of her but I’m so hurt.”
The video ended, bringing fresh wave of tears to my eyes.
The idiot lied! She turned things the other way. I have no proof to prove her wrong.
“Don’t worry, we’ll get back at her” Lily traced circles on my back.
The doorbell rang,
She went to answer it and came back with a man.

“I’m sorry Trish, it’s not what you want think. Jane forced herself on me. I don’t know how she got in contact with my parents but she did and now they want us to get married. I didn’t have sex with her, I don’t why she’s hell bent on having me” I looked at me with so much sincerity.
“She wants to ruin my life, I don’t know why” I replied gently.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Lily drooling at Dallas.
No way!!!!!
Is she serious?? She’s crushing on Dallas?
“Can you tell me what happened between you both?”
I narrated my ordeal with Jane and Kelvin.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find a way to end this” he said soothingly and left, promising to come the following day
Few minutes after he left, the doorbell rang again.
Lily ran to the door, thinking it was Dallas again.
“Don’t!” I heard the voice yell at her.
A figure emerged from the doorway, revealing Kelvin.
“Kelvin?” I stood up
We haven’t talked ever since he saw me.
“I tried to slam the door at him but he yelled at me. You heard it right?” Lily said in a rushed voice
“It’s okay Lily” she breathed out relief.
“What are you doing here?” I asked him.
“Are you okay? I saw the video” He asked, looking at me in concern. He looks worried though
“Why do you care?” I fired at him
“I do care, Jane has been disturbing me, I haven’t been paying any attention to her, so she’s threatening me”
“Oh, you guys have a misunderstanding, now you come running back to me to accept you”
“Jane is really dangerous” he ignored my remark “Thanks for stating the obvious” I said sarcastically. I saw Lily by my side, looking ready to pounce “Trish……” He was saying when his phone rang.
He looked at me then at his phone before answering and putting it on speaker.
I decided to take in his features and I found myself wishing to caress his stubble cheeks.
Gawd!! This man has been with me since college and we’ve gone through a lot until he suddenly changed and shattered my heart.
I still miss him.
Yeah, I know I’m crazy to miss him.
The voice on the other end came through, stopping me from reliving memories.
“Hi love” the voice said
I sat down in disgust, my ex best friend and ex fiance are talking to each other.
“What do you want?” I couldn’t help but notice the hate underneath his
voice

“You know I can” she laughed wickedly and hung up.
Something is going on, something I’m clueless about.
“What’s that all about?” I asked
“You wouldn’t believe me anyway” he glanced at me.
He looks stressed. Trust Jane to do that to anyone
” Will you believe me if I said I never meant to hurt you?”
“I don’t think so, you hurt me really bad Kev and you did it with my best friend” I hate voice for shaking.
He looked hurt “Jane was after us all along”
“What video does she want to release if you don’t follow her rules? It has to do with me right?”
“Yes, it’s your sex video” he replied
