Love Affairs – Episode 48
Episode 48
.
Thelda and Anabel sat on a long couch in Thelda’s apartment, waiting for Lucia. A bottle of wine and two glasses were on a stool in front of them. Anabel looked at her watch, “It’s over an hour and she hasn’t come.”
Thelda sipped her wine, “She has no reason not to honour the invitation. She’ll certainly
come.”
Anabel took her glass in her palm and rested her back slowly on the couch, “Has Reagan picked up?”
Thelda’s eyelashes fluttered, “Not yet.” She took her phone from the seat, dialed him
again and placed the phone against her ear,
“He’s still not picking up.” Worry lines appeared on her forehead as she kept the phone on the couch.
Anabel sipped her wine, “Do you believe Reagan didn’t kill Stella?”
Thelda kept her glass on the stool and faced Anabel, “I don’t know.”
“Reagan has never done a thing like that. I don’t think the lady that called you is
sure
about what she told you. She’s probably mistaking. Stella is dead.”You can also read some interesting stories from www.generalloaded.com
Thelda folded her arms on her chest and began tapping her feet on the floor. She took
a long rattling breath and said, “But why is he not picking my calls?. Something is certainly
wrong somewhere.”
Anabel sat up and adjusted that she was facing Thelda, “We don’t have to conclude yet.” She placed her palms on her knees, “I still believe something kept Reagan from
picking up but he must have killed Stella.”
Thelda took her glass, “Let’s pray Lucia is wrong.” She gulped down the wine and fought to appear calm, “But what if she’s right? What
if Reagan didn’t kill Stella, do I tell the senator she’s still alive?”.
Anabel shook her head immediately, “It won’t help. If that lady is right about Stella being alive, then we find a way and take Stella out.
The senator doesn’t appreciate being played with and with Stella still remaining alive, the
world will definitely come to know everything.” Thelda smirked and refilled her wine glass,
“You’re right. If Reagan has failed, someone else will succeed where he failed.” Anabel managed a nod and refilled her glass.
They heard screech of tyres outside and Thelda stood. She dropped her glass on the stool and walked to the window. She pushed the drapes aside, looked out and saw an attractive lady open the rear door of a taxi and get out. She observed she was almost as beautiful as her daughter. She stood, watching, until Lucia walked up the steps and
rang the bell. Anabel rose and moved to the door. She opened it and was looking at the very lady that made her life miserable many
years back. Lucia immediately recognized her and gave a complacent smile.
