The noise from Reagan’s ringing cell phone roused his senses and brought him back to reality. He glanced at the clock and realized he had been standing, brooding over the past for almost half an hour. He looked at the bangle on Stella’s wrist one more time and answered his call. He spoke into the phone for some minutes and returned it to his pocket with a sigh. It was another assignment from

one of the politicians. Someone needed to be murdered immediately. He stared with lust at Stella’s smooth laps for a while and sighed.

No need to hurry. He thought. She was still his until he killed her. He moved to the drawer, unlocked it, pulled it out and selected a gun. He pulled the drawer in, locked it and hid the gun under his shirt. He started moving to the door but a thought struck him and he

suddenly stopped. What if Stella woke up before he was back? He hurried into a room

and came out with a long wire and a roll of sellotape. He moved to Stella, sat her on a

chair beside the couch and tied her firmly to it

with the long wire. Tearing off sizable portion from the roll, she stuck her lips with the

sellotape, then turned and disappeared from the apartment.
