Fostinah was really low in spirit. She didn’t even have idea where to start from or go to. Due to Josne, she tossed a lot of people out of her life. Her friends, Chabota and Debby were watching her from a distance seeing how she acting so weird.
Her family had also decided to have nothing to do with her. The uncles went to an extent of saying that they should not even be told about her death after she answered them malicious when advised about her course of life.
She sat there failing to believe that she had been dismissed from her ‘permanent’ job. She came to believe that what people say that it’s very difficult to be fired when you are a government employee was a blue lie. In an instant, she was unemployed.
As she was mourning for her job,her phone started ringing. It was one of her high class friends.
“Hey gal, how are you doing today?” The friend said.
“Not so good. I have been dismissed from work”
“What?! That’s so bad. Anyway, away from that, i called to let you know that we are supposed to send the deposits into the cilimba account this afternoon.” “Oh okay. Will you come see me?”
“Are you sick? Of course no. Iam going out to a braii we are having our of town.
See yah” she said then ending the call.
“So these are who called me friends?” She thought to herself.
She expected the friend to visit her after hearing that she had fired from her job.
Contrary the friend was just interested in the money.
Fostinah had joined the A-PLUS girls squad Cilimba. What happened was that they would put a specific amount of money and give one person. After two weeks, they would put together and give another one until each and every person received. The current of money they were putting together was a K10,000. They contributed every after two weeks.
The help which Josne was rendering to her made it possible for her to participate in this cilimba.
This time She had already corrected and they were two contributions pending on her she was supposed to make for the whole round to be done.
She got her phone and opened a mobile banking app to check how much money she had in her account. There was K24,456.76 meaning she had to take away a K20,000 and her net would be K4,456.76.
“A four thousand and am not employed?!” She asked herself laughing hieristically. She knew very well that if she had to wait for another two weeks to send the remaining k10,000 she might be tempted to use it. So she decided to send the whole twenty thousand knowing very well what would have happened if she failed to pay back.

TWO WEEKS LATER
Fostinah tried to communicate with Josne but all her attempts proved futile and vanity. She hoped that one day she might have an opportunity to meet him and explain what she had in her heart.
Without wasting time, she started hunting for employment in private hospitals and Non Governmental Organization. She tried as much as she but nothing fruitful came up. It was evident that something was really missing in her search of job. “You need connections to get employed these days” one of the nurses once told her.
She thought of who could help her get an employment but nobody came to her mind. She then remembered of how connected people was to NGO’s that were dealing in Health.
“There is no way I can go and seek for help from him” she said to herself.
“If I keep my pride, I will be roaming in the street without anything to eat soon” she thought again.

A MONTH LATER.
Peter and Prudence were then legally and officially married. They were living together as husband and wife happily together with the kids. The happiest person of all was Tamarah who had also been engaged by the director.
It was on a weekend afternoon, Peter and Prudence sat outside their house on the verandah while the kids played Scrubbles. Just then the gateman opened the gate to someone who walked into the yard.
Upon recognising who the person was, Peter stood up in shock looking at the person. The kids who were playing stopped playing and stood up in shock as well as they looked at the person walking in. Prudence who didn’t know Fostinah was surprised seeing the reaction from all her family members. Fostinah slowly walked towards them.
“Hello Peter” Fostinah said.
“Kids go inside” Peter said to the kids at which they directly went inside.
Peter looked at her and saw that it was obvious things were not moving well for her. Her legs were dusty meaning she had walked to there. “Fostinah what do you want?” Peter asked her.
“Please, i need you to hear me out” Fostinah said.
“Let me excuse myself” Prudence said about to leave.
“You wont go anywhere” Peter said.
“Babe, I trust you. You need to sort out everything between the two of you” Prudence said.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,” Prudence said going into the house.
“I asked you a question, what do you want?” Peter asked her again. “Okay, I just came to apologise for everything that I did to you.” She said. “I already forgave and forgot you. What else do you want?”
“Peter, I know you are not a bad person. You are a good person. Please pity me. I didn’t come to cause any trouble to yoir beautiful family.” She said.
Peter looked at her again and saw the sincerity in her eyes. He was sure that the
world had taught her a bitter lesson and it was time for the world to discipline her.
Her face was sweaty and her lips were dry entailing that she was dehydrated. This
view gave Peter some pity for her. She ushered her and sat down in the shade on
the corridor. He then gave a glass of some juice which she drunk religiously.
“Peter, I know from the look of things that you are married and happy with the
kids. Am.really happy for you. I am here to tell you that my life is messed up and I
really need your help.” She said.
“What help do you need from me?”
“I was dismissed from work and am asking you to connect me to any NGO. Please.”

“I am sorry. I can’t do that”.
“Please Peter. I have suffered enough. I know am paying for my sins of abandoning my children. Please help me. You can’t pay evil with evil.” “Inasmuch as I would want to help, I can’t”
“I am there months pregnant. I have nothing to support the child with”
“And its father?”
“He doesn’t know.”
“Oh too bad but…..”
Before Peter could finish talking, Tamarah drove into the yard. She quickly got out
of the car and went to the corridor.
“Peter, what is she doing here?”
“She is right here. Ask her” Peter said.
“Fostinah if you know what is good just leave his place” Tamarah said. “Tamarah please”
“Nikacoka munyumba, elo nikupeze nikumenya na poto mu cimutu ico cilibe nzeru” Tamarah said going inside the house. (By the time I will be coming out of the house, i shouldn’t find you because I will hit you in your senseless head) A little while later, Tamarah came out with a pan in her hand.
“Get out!” She shouted.
Tamarah then dragged fostinah out of the yard until outside the gate.
“Don’t you ever come back here again” she said hanging the gate behind her. “And if you entertain her, I will smash your head” Tamarah said to Peter. “That will be over my dear body” he said
