Confessions Of An Escort – Episode 13
CONFESSIONS OF AN ESCORT
_13_
After dragging me from the bedroom, I finally go to the living room to meet my guests.
‘Hey babe.’ Francis says coming to me
I don’t know what he is playing at because everyone in this room knows that he was paying me to act as his girlfriend
‘Hey.’ I say hugging him back
He smiles, holding me a little longer than I expect.
‘Hey Mer’vis, Ezra. Welcome to my home.’ I say with a smile
‘Thank you, this is a beautiful home you have here.’
‘Thank you.’ I respond
Chisenga comes to tell me that the food is already set on the table so we all walk to the dining area.
Ezra says grace and we dig into our food.
‘This is nice.’ Urah compliments
I roll my eyes
‘Babe this is your specialty, we both know that.’ She adds and I laugh, everyone else on the table does
‘Where is Sean?’ Ezra asks
‘In his room.’ I respond after clearing my throat ‘You are no longer with his father?’ Mer’vis asks
I don’t want to respond but the way everyone is looking at me I know I have to ‘They were never together.’ Urah says saving me
I smile gratefully at her
‘Oh, that’s sad.’
I smile
‘I am sure he doesn’t know what he has missed out on, Sean looks like a bright child.’
‘I am sure wherever he is, he is a happy man.’ I say through gritted teeth then down a glass of water
‘Mer’vis what do you do for a living?’ Mark asks ‘Nothing at the moment.’ ‘Excuse me?’ Urah asks
‘Well I was working as a secretary back in Germany.’
‘But because we are relocating I decided to find her something to do, until then she will just be a house wife.’ Ezra says
‘Wow.’ Urah responds
‘Do you have anything against being a housewife?’ She asks looking at Urah Inwardly I laugh, in this day and age who still wants to be a full time housewife.
‘No I don’t.’
‘What is wrong with your husband taking care of you?’
‘Everything.’ I respond unintentionally
‘Really?’
Now everyone is looking at me expecting answers
‘Here is the thing Mer’vis, in this day and age I don’t think I have met anyone who wants to be a responsibility of another full time. It’s all roses and candy being taken care of once you are dating but marriage is a life time commitment and there is no guarantee that money will continue flowing, it’s good if the two of you both have something to do, besides there is pride in making your own money as a woman.’
‘I get your point but I know my man loves me and he is going to take care of me.’
‘Some days love is not enough, other days the love from the other person won’t come. You will have to put in your 100% and share it between the two of you, you will have to burn yourself in order to keep the both of you warm. But imagine doing all that on an empty stomach.’
‘You are speaking as if you have never had a man take care of you.’
‘No I haven’t, because I have never needed one.’
‘Exactly why you are still single.’
‘Whoa.’ Urah says
‘Babe.’ Ezra says looking at her
‘What, we all know Francis is paying her to be his girlfriend. What makes her and an escort any different besides if she is okay with this it means she hasn’t started today.’
‘What the hell makes you think you will come into my house and insult me?’ I ask on my feet
‘I am not insulting you, no need to get defensive. All I am saying is for you to be okay with all this it means it isn’t the first time.’
‘Ezra get your girl out of my house or I swear to God I will beat her up.’
‘And why can’t you just ask me to leave, why do you have to go through my man?’ She says now on her feet as well
Ezra stands to hold her
‘We should leave.’ He says to Mer’vis
‘We are not going until I have said my peace.’
I laugh
‘What really is your problem?’ I ask
‘I just have a problem with African ladies who want to start living like whites.’
‘Babe pass me some water.’ I say settling back into my chair
‘I see this is not even about me, you have issues with our entire gender; but guess what hunny, you are one of us.’
‘I might be female but I will never be like you; I will be a loving partner to my man, I will be home waiting for him as he works for us and our kids. And no I won’t have any kids outside wedlock because it might seem cool in this generation but kids outside wedlock, that is not right.’
I look at her, in my head I have already killed her a million times but I decide I won’t let her get to me. I have come a long way, I have been hurt, I have had to
work my way up just so my child could have the life I never did and no I won’t allow this human who doesn’t know jack about me to piss me off.
‘All the best in having your children whilst married.’ I say
‘Excuse me.’ I add standing up to go to the kitchen
I get there and lean against the sink, I don’t know why I am becoming a sentimental person but the words about having a child outside wedlock got to me.
I feel a presence behind me, then footsteps. I know the person is standing right behind me because I can hear them breathe, then all of a sudden I feel hands wrap around my neck.
‘Don’t mind her.’ Francis says
‘What are you doing?’ I ask
‘After last night I am not letting you go.’
‘We don’t have anything defined.’
‘I will pay you, if it means being your only client every other night I don’t mind. But no one is seeing this midget body naked apart from me.’
‘What makes you think it’s about the money?’
‘I know it’s not, I looked you up and you are one of the highest paid doctors in the country. So it’s not even about the money.’
‘You went to an escort app looking for a lay, what makes you think you are the kind of man I want to let in?’
‘You don’t have to, you just have to make me your only client.’
‘Why?’
‘I will pay you double what they pay you, we won’t even need to have sex.’
‘Again, it’s not about money.’ I say moving away from his embrace
‘Breakfast tomorrow, I will draw up a contract on the do’s and don’ts. You can even pull off when you meet someone but until then it’s just me.’
‘What will you tell your friends? The ones that you have already told that you are paying me?’
‘I am a grown up and I can keep things to myself.’
‘I can never lie to Urah, so obviously Mark will know.’
‘He wouldn’t snitch.’
‘And Ezra?’
‘He has a loud mouth for a fiancé, he won’t know a thing.’
‘Okay.’ I respond
‘And the way that girl was talking to you, are you sure you didn’t date the same man in a different life?’ He asks leading me back to the living room
‘Nah.’ I say with a sigh
