Bupe couldn’t believe her eyes and ears. different people came claiming to be her grandmother and others her aunt.she didn’t how to react. She had lived all her life knowing no one.

“These people have no shame at all where were they when I and mama slept with empty stomach,where were they when grandma did piece works just to see me in higher education.” She cried even more.

She watched how granny was lowered under the ground,she thought it was a dream but it was a reality. After all the relatives have put the flowers on the cemetery.

The claimed bro to granny announced that those who new her can also put flowers.

Neighbors had to put. To her surprise,even Miguel came to put flowers.

She was more than shocked.she wanted to react but controlled herself.

The burial was over and people returned to their respective homes.

They sat as a family to see who can take care of Bupe.

“Bupe is all grown up,she will take care of herself,”the claimed uncle said.

Everyone agreed with him because he was the one who looked wealthy.

“I did not ask for any one’s opinion,i will survive on my own,granny looked after me when I was born,am gown up, so please just leave,i will manage own my own,”she said feeling so annoyed.

“She has decided to do what she wants,lets no say much,”one said and she just ignored.

Few days after the burial,her life was not the same. It was even harder for her to leave without her granny. She remembered all her moments with.how she stood by her through thick and thin.

She had lost all hope of leaving a better life.

She was sitting in her small hut house when she heard a knock.

She went to open only to find Miguel. She just looked at him,looked the house and went away leaving him alone on the door.

I was so annoyed,i wondered why he came to my small house. That aside.i didn’t even know how he found out where I leaved. I thought I had made it clear to him that I never wanted to see his face ever again.

I couldn’t speak to him any way instead i left him alone. He called after but couldn’t turn.

After some hours,i decided to apply for a job. I applied but to no avail. I went to town. On my was there,i saw someone who looked like Mariana in the vehicle and a man looked like Miguel’s friend. I followed the car with my eyes. The car drove to kwacha relax hotel opposite st Johns cathedral.

I pipped through the gate since the get man couldn’t let me in.

I saw them kissing and hugging like teenagers.

I decided to leave because it was not my business.i went to town and find a job as a cleaner at the post office.

After that I went to church at church of Christ ministry. I was in a praise team. I didn’t even know how to face the members because of the guilty in me of sleeping with a man before marriage. Everyone was pitting me for the loss of mama.

Lewis was also in praise team and that’s were I knew him from. after the meeting,i went back home hoping to find mama but was just another nightmare.

I sat down on the door thinking of what to eat and how I was going for work. I was lost in thought not realising that tears were coming out.

I felt someone’s hands wiping my tears. I came back to reality and only to see Miguel standing in front of me.

“Have come to sleep with sir, or are you looking for your sister?’i asked him but he was just quite.

“Just hear me out please,i didn’t know that you were a virgin,am really sorry Bupe,please forgive me,”,he pleaded.

Bupe tried hard to hold her tears but she couldn’t.she remembered how Miguel took advantage of her helplessness and ruined her life in just a night. Miguel tried to wipe her tears but she pushed him away.

On the other hand Mariana had been against Miguel asking for Bupe to go back for work. Why was Mariana against that,only she knew. Miguel’s friend Mike was a drag addict and Miguel was against their relationship.

A month went by,the situation and things were just too complicated for her. At work and at home. She was fired at work because someone had put money in her bag and she was handed over to the police at kasama central police. She had no one to bail her out. She pleaded innocent until Lewis came and signed police bond for her. And then she had no work and she missed her mama a lot.
