OVERLOOKED LOVE

 

PART 3

 

 

I rang the door like a mad woman. I placed my finger on the door-bell and pressed until Tess came to the door looking like shit and smelling alcohol. I wanted to slap her so hard before saying anything, but why would I slap her yet I wasn’t sure if Travis was with her or not. To catch a liar, be a fool.

 

JADE: You look horrible. Did a lorry run over you?

 

TESS: Thank you. Why are you here so early?

 

JADE: It is about Travis

 

TESS: Travis? Has he died?

 

JADE: I know that’s what you wish for right now. He didn’t come back to my apartment last night. I want to kill that son of a woman.

 

TESS: Really? That’s weird. And he hasn’t called?

 

JADE: Why do you say that? Would I be here?

 

TESS: To be honest after I dropped you, I went back to the club just to have one last drink. I found him seated at the same table alone. So I joined him. He kinda looked disturbed and kept looking at his phone. After an hour I offered to drop him to your place and then come home to sleep.

 

JADE: Okay, and then?

 

TESS: I dropped him at yours and left him coming up to your apartment. So if he hasn’t come up to now then I can’t tell. Come to the living we wait for him to call.

 

JADE: You are sure about dropping him? I hope nothing bad has happened to him, I would die.?

 

TESS: 200% sure My dear. But don’t worry, he will turn up sooner or later.

 

Even before I hugged her for being honest with me, along came a spider. From the corridor leading to the main door appeared Travis staggering and looking lost. He

 

 

was walking while leaning on the wall, had he been drugged. I turned around and looked at Tess with the fiercest eyes she had never seen before in her entire life. I mentally added heavy weight to my hand and gave her a slap that made her loose balance and fall on the floor like a sack of sand. Skyla appeared from nowhere and bent down to pick her mother up. Travis was still struggling to reach where we were. I ignored him, whatever he was going through, he had to face it like a man.

 

SKYLA: What happened here? Why have you slapped my mother?

 

JADE: Ask her. Ask her who that man (pointing at Travis) is and why she brought him here.

 

SKYLA: I heard them come in last night and I assumed it was Ryan.

 

JADE: Look at that man very well, is he Ryan? Ryan is never coming here again, thanks to me.

 

SKYLA: I want to know why you have slapped my mum.

 

TESS: Skyla go to your room. I will talk to you later.

 

SKYLA: Are you okay mother?

 

TESS: Go to your room!

 

Skyla left her on the floor and went to her room grudgingly. Tess stood up and wiped her face.

 

JADE: I am 200% sure, yah? Is that not what you just said? Liar!

 

TESS: Jade it is not what you think.

 

JADE: Really, is this a revenge mission coz of what happened between you and Ryan? Do you blame Me for helping you out?

 

I was preparing another heavy slap which was to land on her right cheek, then I saw Travis almost falling down. I rushed and held him before he hit the floor.

 

 

TRAVIS: Where am I, what happened to me?

 

JADE: You are at Tess’ apartment. Do you remember what happened last night?

 

TRAVIS: Tess said she is dropping me at your apartment, but once I got into her car I think I blacked out. I don’t remember anything that happened after that. Were we in accident.

 

TESS: Okay! Okay! I lied Jade. He blacked out and then I brought him here. I was tired too and I didn’t want to make two trips, one to your place and then come back here. And I thought he wouldn’t mind. But nothing happened between us.

 

JADE: You knew about my plans for Travis and so you went back to the club, made him drink some more, or probably drugged him and then brought him straight to your house thinking he would sober up and bang you right?

 

TESS: That was not my plan? I was tired and high.

 

JADE: Look Tess, I am not stupid and don’t try playing mind games with me. I outwitted Ryan and Raksha, remember? Now watch me as I walk and trust me I will never look back. Travis is all yours. He will find his things at Tysons office later this morning. Shame on you!

 

TESS: I never slept with the guy Jade, I swear!

 

JADE: But you ruined my plans, my romantic plans.

 

TRAVIS: Jade don’t leave me here please. I don’t know what happened.

 

JADE: Really, I saw everything. I saw the dancing, how you two were rubbing on each other like two hungry hyenas and you choosing to remain in the club. You both planned this to humiliate me, yah!

 

TRAVIS: Please Jade, I had nothing to do with this.

 

JADE: I don’t care. You two can get married and screw till kingdom come!

 

 

And with those few remarks I stormed out of Tess house with rage. I didn’t want to start drama because Skyla was around . I had made my point to Tess and closed that friendship chapter forever!

 

Back in my apartment I took a bath, dressed in my usual weekend casual clothes and sat in the living waiting for Travis to come knocking at my door. And just I had anticipated and wished , two hours later, the door-bell rang and I rushed to the door. My prince stood there with his signature cute smile. I opened and jumped on him like gorillas jumps on monkeys. He kissed me so deep and my whole body became hot, hotter, hottest.

 

TRAVIS: You are a genius baby, It worked brilliantly well. Immediately you left she was all over me, crying and telling me how much she loves me. I told her it was okay, and we should take it slow now that you are out of the picture.

 

JADE: You know when you almost fell I thought she had drugged you for real?

 

TRAVIS: Your actions, damn! You are a drama queen and I love your idea. No wonder Tyson likes you.

 

JADE: Does she know you are here?

 

TRAVIS: No! I took a Taxi and told her I am going to a hotel, order for some new clothes, change and go finish my business with Tyson.

 

JADE: What next?

 

TRAVIS: I will call her for dinner this evening. I will be the perfect gentleman. I will spoil her with love as I talk ill of you a little.

 

JADE: That’s perfect. Pour all your sympathies to her regarding Ryan and Raksha. Promise to be there for her and her daughter and then hit on the investments plans. Before she knows it, she will be remitting all her cash to you in the name of buying land.

 

TRAVIS: I wish I knew you many years ago, by now we would be far.

 

 

JADE: I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she realizes that all her money is gone. I am sure before that she will try and show me how much in love the two of you are! She is that show off type. It is payback time baby.

 

TRAVIS: What about Ryan? You still love him, yah?

 

JADE: Very much but let’s deal with one issue at a time. Ryan will be mine, come rain or thunderstorms.

 

TRAVIS: And Raksha?

 

JADE: She will be long dead by the time Ryan and I get married in the Bahamas.

 

TRAVIS: Go girl that’s the spirit. Now let’s go make love.
