ARIA’S POV

“Pearl?”
No this can’t be, it’s just an imagination.
It’s was my imagination when I thought I say Granny Toby and Pearl in that gown too is just an imagination.
Her face was that of confusion when she was rushed by the paparazzi.
“Are you Mariana Del Dominguez?” Was the question that was asked and instantly the hall went silent.
She shook her head slowly.
“Pearl please could you stand beside your friend?” The MC spoke once more.
What’s going on here? I don’t understand a thing. I felt like Alice in wonderland.
“Hi Aria.” Pearl greeted when she came to stand by me.
I checked her outfit and couldn’t help the fury. She’s looking all dapper in this fashionable gown while I am shabbily dressed. It’s wasn’t imagination after all. She’s indeed dressed in this gown.
I ignored her greetings and looked somewhere else.
“You look stunning Aria.”
Really? Stunning? And now she’s mocking me.
“You like pulling my legs don’t you?” I asked.

“Why would I? Am being honest here Aria.” She explained.
“Alright.” I stated with a straight face.
She stared at me and shook her head,”Now who says my Aria is bad?”
She wrapped her hands around my neck playfully with a pout.
I might be jealous of Pearl and do bad things towards her but I really don’t hate her.
She always had a way to make me smile and she did that right now.
I smiled for a moment but my face dropped when I remembered the awful things I did to her.
“Before the heir and CEO of MD is disclosed, there will be a short drama and video of the priceless moments Mariana shared with her parents before disappearing.” The MC announced and the room went dark instantly like a cinema.
They started the drama first and guess those who acted it.
The stage opened and a young Paula in her twenties and Pablo showed.
They became friends and gradually fell in love but Pablo’s mum was not in favor so she did whatever she could to separate them but as usual love always win.
She went to the extent of trying to kill Paula and when we all thought that she died, there was a ray of hope.
I could see the glistening eyes of the audiences as I looked around. I even had to share a few tears where it was needed.
Their separation after the marriage caused everyone to weep in the hall.
Florencia was punished for her sins and has been bedridden since then.
Then after five years, Paula became a rich woman with a beautiful daughter. She found her paternal family and lived happily but her joy was completed when she reunited with her husband.
It’s was all a joyous moment until something unfortunate happened again. A plane crush. Mariana was separated from her parents and that was how the drama ended.
The lights came on as the room erupted with thunderous applouds.
All the actors who were in person of the Dominguez and the Dante’s bowed before going back stage.
I was enjoying the drama and didn’t notice how uneasy Pearl has been feeling all this time. She sweated profusely but I didn’t pay attention since I wouldn’t like to miss any scene.
The lights went off again and a video began to play on the huge screen on stage.
It’s was about the memories Mariana shared with her parents.
I decided to look at Pearl but she was no longer there.
Where has she gone too? I thought she was here a moment ago?
“She’ll be fine.” I whispered and continued watching.
After a while the video ended and the lights came on but Pearl hasn’t come back yet.
“Alright ladies and gentlemen, I hope you had a lot of fun right?” The crowd shouted in agreement.
“It’s time! The much awaited moment is here and we’ll call on Mr and Mrs Dominguez on stage.” The MC said and my heart couldn’t stop beating.
Anna Paula and Pablo appeared on the stage in another set of clothes.
They looked straight into each other’s eyes and took the microphone from the MC
They nodded at each other before looking ahead.
They looked in my direction and I smiled in expectancy for my name to be called.
They kept looking in my direction but didn’t say a word as they’re smiles vanished and was replaced with a worried look.
What’s wrong?
PEARL’S POV
After watching the drama and the video, I couldn’t take it at some point when I started having similar scenes in my mind. I rushed out of the hall to nowhere in particular.
Why do I feel as if I was the little girl? But I know that can’t be possible so why is my mind trying to deceive me?
We all know that Aria is their daughter and there’s no way I can be that girl.
What’s happening to me? The scenes in the video is now clear in my head and I imagined more.
“Lina was my nanny and I met my dad at the mall and had my birthday at the beach in the jacht.” I said to myself.
How did I know all that? Am I really imagining all this?
I climbed the endless stairs and took several turns.
I stopped running when I got to a corridor. This place doesn’t look homely?
Doesn’t anyone stay here?
I suddenly had the urge to pee. There was a door on my right so I walked to it and turned the nob. I was surprised when it’s opened with ease.
I entered without looking around and went straight to the bathroom after locating it in the dim light.
After finishing my bussiness in the bathroom, I came out and used that moment to looked around the room.
The room was quite dim so I located the switch on the wall and put the lights on.
And standing at the window was a shadowy form in white.
I almost screamed but covered my mouth to suppress it.
I began to sweat despite the air condition in the room when the shadowy form began to move.
I started walking backwards.
I think this house is being haunted by ghost.
“Are you also running away from me because I am bad and look scary?” The person spoke in a tiny voice.
She’s a woman.
I dropped my hands from my mouth and breathed in relief when I was convinced that it’s was a human who just spoke and not some ghost.
“Who are you?” I questioned.
