Yolanta refused to think about the woman who had come claiming to be her mother, she knew only one mother and it was going to stay that way. Her father was now stable and she was allowed to go and see him, she pushed the door open and found him reading something.
‘Hey.’ She said with a smile
He looked at her then back to what he was reading with a smile before speaking up.
‘I will love only you because you are the best person I have ever come across.’ He read
She couldn’t help but smile
‘I wrote you that letter during parent’s appreciation day in 5th grade.’ ‘Yes baby and I kept it.’ He said
‘I have always been a fan of your writing and I have kept most of the important things you have written to me.’ He added

‘You have been crying.’ He said noticing the eye bugs ‘I was scared.’ She said when she sat next to him
He smiled weakly, he knew her finding out would weaken her but she looked like she was handling it just alright.
‘I couldn’t leave without telling you how proud a father I am.’ He said kissing the back of her hand
‘And I am sorry for hiding my sickness from you.’ He added
‘You got me really worried.’ She said
‘Was I in heaven?’ he asked making her laugh
They both kept quiet knowing there was a pending issue but none of them knew where to start from.
‘Do you still love her?’ she finally asked
‘It has been over twenty five years.’

Unknown to them, his wife was standing by the door and hearing them as they talked. She felt a sharp pain when Yoyo asked him if he still loved her mother but was more than glad to hear his response. She walked to the bed and stood just behind Yolanta placing her fingers on her shoulders and gently massaging her. ‘God I needed that.’
‘Don’t get used to it, those hands belong to me.’ Both ladies laughed

George stood up after speaking his mind off, he loved his daughter with a passion and he wasn’t going to allow anything or anyone to do her harm. The juice he was drinking all of a sudden became too light for him, he needed something that was strong enough. Something that was going to make him forget the night mares he had been having about his late wife. He smiled when he pictured her beautiful face, he had hurt her badly and if given a chance he would do things better but as the old saying goes if wishes were horses we would all ride them.
He went to his room and the loneliness suddenly hit him, he could have remarried but had decided to respect her memory by practicing celibacy and not once did he feel bad about it but the past few days were the hardest. His little girl was no longer small and soon enough she would be running her own home and he often
wondered how her life would turn out. He would trade his for her happiness but then again fate is never in any one’s hands.

Both Wane and Cornell turned around when Kendra cleared her throat. ’What?’ her brother asked her
‘You both forgot that I was here.’
They couldn’t help but laugh
Cornell led Wane to a twin chair and they sat just next to each other as she laid her head on his shoulder. He couldn’t help but smile because being here with her meant so much to him.
‘Now that dad is out of danger what plans do you have?’ he asked her ‘Firstly I need to make amends with Yolanta.’ She responded with a sigh ‘Your sister is a hard nut to crack.’ Kendra said
They all laughed
‘Hey, she might soon be our sister in law.’ Cornell said They laughed some more
‘Isn’t it funny how events have just taken a twisted turn? Like she was with you and now she is with Cornelius?’ Kendra asked ‘Dad will kill us.’
‘You mean we will kill him.’ She corrected
They all laughed again but the laughter was cut short when Yolanta walked into the house.
Everyone kept quiet.
‘Hey.’ she said to no one in particular
Cornell stood up and opened his arms like he used to when they were together. ‘Can I?’ she asked looking at her sister who seemed to be taken by surprise ‘You can.’ She responded with a smile
Cornell moved closer and enveloped her into an embrace. ‘We didn’t mean to hurt you.’ He said in her ears Wane stood up and joined in the embrace
‘Wow, you three look cute together.’ Kendra said causing them to laugh
Just then Cornelius walked in with boxes of pizza, Yolanta turned and couldn’t help but smile.
‘I do hope you are a pizza person.’ He said winking at her
She blushed some more and excused herself because she had to take a bath.
The four remained in the living room and warmed up the food whilst they waited on Yoyo, they decided to watch Power rangers because none of them had seen it yet. Minutes later she appeared back into the room wearing a pair of leggings with a t-shirt and she came with a thrower that she used to cover herself up.
‘Can I join you?’ Cornelius asked her when she settled down ‘Sure.’ She responded
They sat opposite each other and the emotions between them were getting stronger with each passing minute.
He locked his fingers with hers under the thrower and she couldn’t help but smile to herself, she liked him no doubt and her heart was willing to open up.
‘I will be here for you and for us.’ She thought to herself before placing her head on his chest.
