Dan woke up early,took a quick shower then drove to the hospital.. He wanted to talk to Mandla about what happened,he wasn’t proud of what he did,and the regret he had was overwhelming.. He was angry with mandla for taking advantage of Thula but he needed to apologized and made sure he doesn’t pressed charges because he could lose his license, he loved his job more than anything.. He arrived at the hospital and head straight to mandla’s ward, he knocked and entered.. Mandla was awake busy with his phone… Dan:eita…

 

Mandla:you here to finish me off..

 

Dan:(remorseful) no,I’m here to apologize, i shouldn’t have done that, i was so angry,now i regret it,please forgive me… Mandla:no i won’t forgive you ever..

 

Dan:come on man,im really sorry..

 

Mandla:(laughed) i need to sleep with your woman more often,of course i forgive you,infact I’m the one who should be apologising, im truly and deeply sorry for what i did..

 

Dan:no worries man,its the past now..so what are we gonna say to the cops..

 

Mandla:i already told them,i was mugged..

Dan: i did,but she told me to trust her,so i decided to give her the benefit of the doubt..

Dan:i want to but it’s hard.. I’m scared i might lose her to that fool.yesterday i

 

called her and she was so cold..

Dan:yeah,that’s what i thought too,I’ll go see her later..

Dan:okay call me,i’ll come take you home..

At home..

 

I woke up did my laundry,then made breakfast for everyone,i cleaned the house

 

after that i bathed Aphiwe,then myself,we got dressed,we were wearing matching

 

outfits,white ripped jeans,black vests and white nike sneakers.I put my silver

 

chocker necklace with matching earrings and bracelet,i took my amore black

 

handbag and we were ready to hit the road. Few minutes later we left for town,i

 

wanted to buy the baby clothes…we went to ackermans,while we were busy

 

shopping Cassandra called me..

 

Me:hello

 

Cass:(noisy background) hey girl,where you at?

 

Me:we at ackermans…

 

Cass:okay, coming now now..

 

She hung up,i decided to buy Phiwe few clothes..Cass walked in and came to us,we shared a hug then she greeted Aphiwe… Cass:your daughter is beautiful thula..

 

Me:(smiled)thank you girl,she takes it from her mommy…

 

Cass:and she looks like you..

 

Me:(smiled)really?

 

Cass:yeah..

 

Me:and there i was thinking she looks like her dad..

 

Cass:no honey..you buying baby clothes,are you pregnant?

 

Me:hahahahaha very funny,my little sister is pregnant, they’re hers..

 

Cass:are you done?

 

 

Me:yeah I’m going to pay so that we can go for that ice cream,yeah? Cass: sure….

 

I paid then we went to wimpy,we ordered our food then we ate,Cass was busy asking me about my life,especially my love life,which made me suspicious, this girl was up to something bad,James was right and i was beginning to hate her….we finished eating then we left with Aphiwe…

Granny was reading her bible sitting outside under the tree when James drove in,he parked his Range Rover then walked to granny…She stopped reading, looking at the tall muscular fair in complexion man approaching her, he was carrying Aphiwe’s slippers,he knelt before granny and greeted her with respect, Granny was impressed…

 

Gran:you can sit now… (she said pointing the chair next to hers, James stood up and sat)

 

James:thank you ma..

 

Gran:how can i help you my child?

 

James:(clears his throat) my name is James Mkhize, iam Aphiwe’s father..

 

Gran:wow,so you the mystery “friend “?

 

James:(smiled rubbing his hands) yebo ma

 

Gran:aphiwe told me a lot about you last night..i can’t say the same about Thula..

 

James:ohh i heard that she slept with you…

 

Gran:(smiled) she did.. She’s a good kid, you doing a very good job..

They stood up and went inside the house, Lelo was watching TV, he greeted her

 

and introduced himself, Granny went to prepare food for them then they

granddaughter, and she wanted to know more about him, what he does, where he’s from but more especially about Aphiwe’s mother… Gran:so where are you from, i mean your family..

 

James:im from Mpumalanga..

 

Gran:really?im from mpumalanga too..

James:baberton..

 

Gran:wait a second, you’re James Mkhize’s son.?

James:i moved them to Joburg,so that it’ll be easier to manage them..

we walked in and my heart almost stopped when i saw james and granny talking

I went to my room to change to hot pants, it was hot okay,i wasn’t trying to seduce

 

someone,then i went the kitchen to start cooking, Granny and James were in the

 

lounge watching cartoons with Aphiwe, later on James said his goodbyes, i walked

 

him out…

 

Gran:(loudly) James go after what you want,don’t let stupid obstacles stand in your

 

way of happiness…

 

James:(smiling)thanks granny,i will definitely do that…..
