Ife pov

 

 

“Thank u,” I said to junior who caught me just in time and helped me find my balance.

 

Before junior could reply, victor came to us and hit junior twice in the face.

 

Everyone gasped at his reaction.

 

“Victor!” I called.

 

“What is going on here?” Mrs afolabi said as she entered.

 

“It is Victor, he punched junior.” June said.

 

“Is dat true?” Mrs afolabi asked but victor couldn’t talk.

 

I looked around and saw Lekan behind Esther.

 

He pressed her buttocks but Esther moved away from him.

 

‘Are those two dating or what?’ I thought.

 

“Victor and junior meet me in my office now,” Mr afolabi said and left the class.

 

Victor and junior also followed her.

 

But my concern wasn’t dat, what exactly is between Esther and Lekan. Victor pov

( in the staff office)

 

 

“Why exactly did u hit junior in the face?” Mrs afolabi requested. But I stood still, not saying anything.

 

“Are u deaf? why do u think he hit u?” she asked junior.

 

But he didn’t give her a response either .

 

“I know what to do,” she said and picked out two note book from her table.

 

“Take,” she said and we collected d book from her.

 

“I want u victor to write the reason why u hit junior till the book finishes, and u junior I want u to write the reason Vic hit u till the book finishes.”

 

“If u don’t finish it don’t leave my office.” she said and left us.

 

“U have really spoilt my face,” junior said and I looked at him furiously.

 

“Stay away from her,” I said to him.

 

“Why will I?” he asked.

 

“What?” I asked gripping his collar.

 

“Am not joking,” I said.

 

“Neither am I, she is ur friend why are you acting like she is urs?” he asked smiling.

 

“Bcoz she is,” I said.

 

“U are confused man, u have ur own girlfriend”.

 

“She is not, but don’t worry I will make sure to make her mine” he said.

 

 

I hold my fist prepare to punch him but Mrs afolabi interrupted the moment by coming in.

 

“What is going on here?” she asked.

 

“U again?” she said referring to me while I let go of him.

Exactly 3 pm, mrs afolabi released us.

 

I saw ife outside probably waiting for the jerk beside me.

 

Just as I predicted she went to him asking him if he is OK.

 

I hissed at their action and they looked at me.

 

“Vic, are u Ok?” she asked touching me but I smacked her hand away.

 

“Like u care,” I said and left.

 

I just felt angry seeing them together.

 

 

Ife pov

 

“Are you OK?” junior asked after victor smacked my hand away.

 

“Yes,” I said but to be sincere am not OK.

 

“I just wanted to see u guys before I went home,” I said.

 

“Wait, so u mean u waited to see him?” he asked.

 

“I said u both,” I said.

 

“Hmm,” he said.

 

 

“What?” I asked.

 

“Nothing,” he said and started walking.

 

“Come on tell me,” i said smiling.

 

“If u catch me first,” he said running while I ran after him.

“Thanks for seeing me off again,” I said.

 

“Sure,” he said.

 

“Good bye,” he said.

 

“Bye,” I said and entered the compound.

 

I could hear my parent arguing again.

 

What exactly is going on?.

 

I entered the house.

 

“If u guys don’t tell what is happening I will leave d house and never come back,” I threatened.

 

“Honey wait,” my mom said.

 

“OK, what is going on?” I asked.

 

“It is ur dad, he has decided dat we are moving out of the city soon” my mom broke the news.

 

“Dad, is dat true?” I asked.

 

 

“I got a promotion and also transferred to another branch in another city. We have no choice but to move.” he said.

 

“But what about my education and mom’s work?” I asked.

 

“We could get u into another school and ur mom could start her own business” he said.

 

“But, what about my friends. Dad I can’t leave dis city” I protested.

 

“U can make new friends, go to a more prestigious school than dis” he said.

 

“No dad, I can’t.” I said.

 

“U don’t care or understand me, all u care for is urself” I said and went to my room.

 

I can’t leave dis city, I can’t leave Vic.

 

(The next day at school)

 

\In the school garden/

 

I just couldn’t shift my thoughts off what my dad said yesterday.

 

I really don’t want to lose Vic, I dont want to leave Vic.

 

“Even if he doesn’t like me, I don’t want to leave him” I said.

 

“Leave who?” someone asked while I squealed in surprise.

 

“Junior!” I said surprised.

 

“I scared u right,” he said and sat next to me on the grass.

 

“I have been looking for you, what are you doing here?” he asked.

 

“Nothing,” I said.

 

“Don’t tell me that, I know there is something going on” he said.

 

“It is my dad, am leaving the city soon” I said.

 

“Oh,” he uttered.

 

“yea,” I said.

 

“It must be hard on u,” he said.

 

“I just don’t want to leave, I grew up here and there are many things here dat I can’t leave. I just don’t get why he doesn’t understand” I said crying.

 

Am crying bcoz the thought of leaving Vic scares me.

 

“Come here,” he said and pulled him closer and hugged me.

 

I hugged him back, just what I needed.

 

“It is going to be OK,” he said consoling me which made me cry more.

 

“Stop crying,” he said and pulled me away from d hug.

 

“Stop crying,” he said cleaning my tears.

 

“Stop crying,” he said and rub my lips while I look at him strangely.

 

He pulled my head closer and did the unexpected.
