Chapter two
Ife pov
I couldn’t believe dis, I really thought he liked me.
I looked at him laughing with Esther, he looked happy.
He turned back and saw me.
He smiled at me and I did d same.
Esther drew his face back.
“I lost him to her,” I said crying.
Our English teacher Mr kudus entered and I cleaned my tears.
Throughout d whole lesson today, I couldn’t concentrate.
All that was on my mind was how I lost vic to Esther.
It was finally 2 pm, I picked my bag and left d school before vic and his girlfriend saw me.
I don’t think I can stand seeing them today, without crying.
I arrived at home and saw my dad at home.
“Good afternoon papa,” I greeted.
“Afternoon, my beautiful daughter” he said.
‘Beautiful indeed,’ I thought.
“U didn’t go to work today?” I asked.
“Yes, I have my reason” he said.
“Ok” I said and went to my room.

I put my phone on airplane mode.
I just want to be alone.
The next morning
“Good morning,” I said to my parents coming out from my room already prepared for school.
“Morning,” my parent replied.
My dad picked his cup of tea, and drank d tea.
“See u,” he said and pecked my mom.
“Good bye beautiful,” he said and kissed my forehead.
“Bye,” I replied and he exited.
“Come and have ur breakfast,” my mom said serving my bread .
“Am not hungry,” I said with a weak voice.
“Don’t tell me dat, u said d same thing yesterday” she yelled.
“I can’t allow u to kill urself” my mom said.
“No one is killing anybody” I said.
“Better, come and have ur food” she said smiling.
I took two slices of bread and sip d tea.
“Am done,” I said.
“Ok take dis spare key, I and your dad might come late” she said and hand over d key to me.
“Ok mom,” I said and put d key in my pocket.
“Good bye,” I said and hugged her.
“Bye,” she said and I left d house.
I arrived at school a minute before the assembly.
After we were done with d assembly, we all went to d class.
Just like yesterday, vic didn’t come sitting with me.
He was with esther.
I really want to go to her and ask her to leave him alone but what can I do.
We have no lesson today, no teacher came to d class.
Exactly 2 pm I picked my bag and stood up but was blocked by Vic and Esther.
“Hey,” Vic said.
“Hi,” I replied awakardly.
“We had a plan yesterday, we didn’t see u” he said.
“I was not feeling fine,” I lied.
“Really? Are u alright now?” He asked touching my neck to feel my temperature.
“I think she is fine now,” Esther said and removed his hand.
“Are u sure?” He asked worried.
“Yes,” I said and faked a smile.
“Gud, bcos we are still going on dat outing” he said.
“I can’t, my parent are not at home” I said.
“I have to be at d neighborhood, I can’t be far from home” I said.
“What do we now?” Victor said sad.
“It is ok, guess it is going to be u and me alone” Esther said smiling.
I hate seeing her smile.
And I can’t allow her be with Victor, he is around her too much.
“U know what am coming,” I said while her smile dropped.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“Anywhere,” Vic said excited.
We all left d school.
We went to d park around d school area.
I wonder why they asked me to come along when they have no time for me.
Dis was really a bad idea.
We left there around 4 and went to Esther’s uncle bar parlour.
“U guys should sit here, I will be back” she said and left.
We sat down where she told us to.
Victor pov
“U know u have not asked me about how me and Esther started dating,” I said to Ife.
“There is nothing to know, u own ur life,” she said harshly.
“Cool,” I said.
I looked at her.
She seemed uncomfortable here.
Esther came with a tray.
She put a beer on d table with some fish.
She has changed her dress, she was now wearing a black short and white tank top.
She looked really beautiful but not as beautiful as Ife even her mole fits her.
“Thanks,” I said.
“I don’t drink,” Ife said.
“What!” Esther exclaimed like it was a big deal.
“Don’t tell me u also don’t drink?” She asked me.
I bit my lower lip.
“I do drink,” I lied while ifemi looked at me.
“Ok drink it,” she said pouring the beer in d glass.
“Ok,” I will and gulped down d whole drink.
“Vic!” Ife called.
“Thank God u are not like some Saint,” Esther said while Ife rolled her eyes.
“Excuse me,” she said, pecked me and left us.
“U don’t seems to like esther?” I asked.
“Of course I like her,” she said laughing.
“I know when u are lying,” I said.
“No u don’t, I like her” she said rudely.
“Ok,” I said and pour myself a bottle and drank it.
Ife pov
“Vic!” I called shaking him.
“I can’t believe he drank two cup and he is drunk,” dat stupid girl said blaming him.
“Can u stop blaming him and just help me take him home,” I said.
“I can’t as u can see, I have something to do,” she said.
“But I can help u to d junction so u can find a taxi,” she said.
“Whatever,” I said and she gave me a hand in carrying him.
She called a taxi for us, which took us to Vic’s junction.
I carried Vic by myself all d way to his house.
Thankfully his house was not far from d junction.
I pick d key from Vic pocket and opened the door.
I know everything about him, and his mom usually come home on weekends.
His dad had divorced his mom.
I laid him down on his bed.
I was about to leave his room but he pulled me back making me fall on his body.
My heart was racing fast knowing dat I was on top of Vic.
The next thing he did shocked me.
He crushed his lips on mine, my eye widened at his reaction.
My best friend just kissed me.
That was when I realized dis was my first kiss.
‘He just took my first kiss!’
