Esther pov

 

 

I never thought I’d regret what I did, but now I do, if only I had known, I won’t have tried it.

 

If I had known that I would be handcuffed by the police, being embarrassed, if I had known dat what I was looking for was actually mine from the start, then I will just patiently wait for it instead of this.

 

Earlier today

 

“Senior Esther” a boy from a junior class called.

 

“Yes” I answered.

 

“The principal is calling for you” he said.

 

“Ok” I said and head to the principal office. I entered the office and saw the polices with Lekan and some teachers. I looked at Lekan but he looked away, I smell trouble.

 

“Esther, you are here?” the principal asked.

 

“Yes” I said.

 

“Am sure you know why you are here?” he asked.

 

“Am not sure sir” I said and everyone glared at me.

 

“I know you will say that, Lekan confessed that you are the one who asked him to do harm to your fellow classmate ife” he said.

 

“Sir that is not right, I told him that ife is frustrating me, and he should frustrate her just like she is doing to me not to murder her” I said.

 

 

“And how is she frustrating you?” he asked and I couldn’t talk.

 

True to be told, that girl never did anything bad to me I was the one that wronged her and Vic.

 

“I also know that it was you and June and her gang who stole the burette, what exactly is that girl’s offence?” he asked but I stood still.

 

“I can’t believe I chose you to be the school head girl” he said dat was when realization hit me.

 

It was all mine from the start, I was going to be the head girl without Vic’s help but I ruined it.

 

“I thought you will make the right head girl bcoz of how nice you are to the teachers, and how studious you are, but I was wrong, you have been hiding your true colors” he said disgusted.

 

“Officers, you can take them” the principal said as they handcuffed us, hot tears dripped down my face.

 

If only I hadn’t done all I did, then I won’t get arrested and lose the position I have been eyeing but because of my greed I lost everything.

 

I regret it, now am going to spend my life in jail.

 

Two weeks later:

 

 

Ife pov

 

This past week has been fun, both me and Vic got appointed as head boy and girl.

 

Junior and bimbo flirting with each other.

 

Esther and Lekan got arrested, my mom is not usually around and that makes me spend more with Vic.

 

“Hey babe” Vic said as he sat in front of me.

 

“Am busy” I said.

 

“But dat doesn’t mean you can’t spare some time with me” he said.

 

“No” I said.

 

“You are really unromantic” he said pouting his lips. “I think it is time” I said as bimbo entered the class. “Here it is goes” Vic said

 

Junior stood up and went to where bimbo was, “uhn I have been willing to ask if you will be…. ” he didn’t finish his statement when bimbo pecked him.

 

“Yes” she said and went to her seat.

 

“Awwn, how romantic” Vic said.

 

“I can’t believe I have dis boring girl as my gf” Vic said.

 

“For what I’ve heard, only girls are into romance, why are you different?” I said as I stood up.

 

“Whatever” he said rolling his eyes.

 

I bend and kissed him.

 

“Am I romantic now?” I asked.

 

“Is that really a kiss,” he said and pulled me closer.

 

“We are in the class” I said shyly.

 

“I don’t care” he said.

 

 

“What is going here?” Mrs afolabi asked as we both looked at her surprised.

 

Few months after their jamb and waec:

 

( in Ife’s house, both junior and Ife were seated waiting for bimbo and Vic to come, ife has got admitted to the school both Vic and her planned to go, she was sitting on the chair nervously)

 

“I hope both I and bimbo get admitted” junior said.

 

Someone knocked on the door and junior opened it, both Vic and bimbo entered.

 

“So how did it go?” I asked as I went to Vic.

 

“Well” he said with a sad face.

 

“It is OK, I guess it wasn’t meant to be” I said as my eyes became weary.

 

“I got admitted” he said.

“Like this” bimbo said kissing junior in front of us.

 

“Gross” I and Vic said. “Whatever” junior said as they pulled away.

 

 

“Am so happy” I said to Vic.

 

“Same here” he said and hugged me.

 

“Look who is talking” both junior and bimbo said while we all laughed.

 

I looked at them happy, I never thought dis could have happened.

 

At first we started as friends but we know deep inside, we wanted to be something more than just friends.
