Continuation From the Last Episode:

“You know the Millennium King and his late wife?” Ariel asked, sounding very surprised.

“Yes Ariel, it was very unfortunate that Queen Elena died after she gave birth to River.” Royal answered and sat down on the bare ground where there was no flower. Royal tapped next to him and Ariel sat down.

The glowing from the flowers lighten up the entire cave.

“So have you seen River before?” Ariel asked, twisting her neck to look at him. At this angle, he looks more handsome.

“No, I didn’t.” Royal replied sadly, staring ahead of him. “I was busy.” He added after a while.

“So if you know the Millennium King and his wife, Queen Elena, that means you are very old, how old are you?” Ariel asked, still staring at him.

Royal laughed as if what Ariel said is funny. “Am old, so old that you won’t believe me if I tell you my age.” He answered.

“Try me then.” Ariel said with a raised eyebrows.

“I am as old as the Moon goddess herself.” Royal told her as he turned to look at her, he noticed how close their face was as she was also staring at him, deep into his eyes. He inhales deeply, breathing in her scent.

She was really beautiful and he couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. His eyes diverted to her lips and he found himself leaning forward slightly and to his surprise Ariel didn’t move her head away.

Without thinking, he pressed his lips on Ariel.

He stopped and removed his lips from hers when she didn’t reciprocate his kiss back.

“I am sorry Ariel, I thought you-” Royal sigh “Never mind.” He added and made to turn his face away embarrassed when Ariel grabbed hold of his jaw and pressed her lips on him.

Royal kissed back immediately.

They kissed so passionately and soon enough, Ariel removed her lips from his and smiled at him.

“I was thinking and that was why I didn’t kiss you back, sorry for sending you a negative message.” Ariel apologized a little.

Royal grinned. “It’s alright Ariel, but what were you thinking?” He asked.

“I didn’t know you like me Royal?” Ariel answered.

“I do like you, the very first day I saw you I couldn’t take my eyes off you. Your hair was what attracted me to you first.” Royal replied in honesty.

“The day I met you was also the day I met that fool called Tyler.” Ariel told him.

“I am sorry for what he did to you, he shouldn’t have humiliated you like that, I am very angry at him.” Royal said almost in anger as he remembered the words Tyler had spit out.

“His loss my gain.” Ariel said with a shrugged shoulders. “He finds me less attractive I guess.”

“I doubt that Ariel, you are beautiful, more beautiful than my foolish mate.” Royal confessed. Tyler was a fool for rejecting such a beauty but then again he is grateful to Tyler for rejecting such a precious gem.

“I like you Royal, you are so down to earth unlike Tyler. I came to Tyler’s birthday party because I wanted to see you, to apologize for lying and hurting your feelings. The day you told me you never wanted to see me again, I realise I….I…. love you. I

don’t know why the Moon goddess didn’t put us as Mates.” Ariel said, closing her eyes as she didn’t want to see Royal reaction to her confessing her feelings for him.

He had said he liked her not love her whereas she had openly confessed her feelings to him.

She felt warm hands on her cheek as they caressed it gently.

“I love you too Ariel.” That made her open her eyes to stare at him, and Royal smiled and continued. “I was hurt when I heard you calling Tyler your Mate, I can’t explain how I felt that day but I had wished Tyler death, I realise on that day how I really love you and enjoy your company, you’re the nicest lady I had ever met. I was happy with the way things took a turn tonight, my Mate rejected me and your Mate rejected you. I think destiny has a hand in this or the Moon goddess wants to give us a second chance. I wish to be with you forever Ariel, you make me happy and I promise to always put a smile on your face if you can give me a chance.” Royal poured out his whole heart to her.

Ariel smiled widely and kissed Royal briefly. “Is that your way of asking me to be your Mate?” She asked.

“Yes Ariel, our Mates rejected us and has cut every mate connection we had with them, we are now free to choose anyone we want as Mate, I want you Ariel, I want

us to get married, I desire to be with you forever, please do not say no.” Royal replied.

“Okay, I will be your Mate Royal, I can’t see myself living without you by my side.” Ariel told him, smiling widely even though she tried not to blush hard.

“Me too Ariel, I love you so much.” Royal told her.

Royal and Ariel smiled at each other.

“So how did you come to know about the Millennium King?” Ariel asked.

“We met each other before he had seen his Mate Elena, he is my very good friend, we are close like this.” Royal said and clasped his two hands to signify his words.

“Okay, but how did you end up becoming Tyler’s slave?” Ariel asked, wanting to know.

“You are a very smart lady Ariel, I love that. I am not a slave to anyone. I mean I came here in search of River.” Royal answered. “I haven’t seen River yet.” He added.

“What for?” Ariel asked out of curiosity.

“I have a message for River.” Royal responded.

“What message?” Ariel asked with sudden knee interest.

“Reed message, he wanted me to deliver the message personally to his child, he looked sick when I saw him though.” Royal answered watching the flowers before them.

“Can’t you tell me?” Ariel demanded trying her luck.

“No Ariel, in as much as I want to tell you I can’t, I had promised Reed and I can’t go back on my promise Ariel, a promise is a promise and I am not breaking it even if you force me with a sword on my neck.” Royal said, returning his gaze to Ariel.

She looks so beautiful and once again he thanked Tyler and Beauty- Tyler for rejecting this beautiful lady and Beauty for rejecting him first.

Ariel smiled widely nodding her head. “Now I am going to marry you to know what message you have for River.”

Royal smiled back.
