Violet’s POV

 

 

At that moment, it was as though time stood still for me as a million questions flooded my mind.

 

 

Why was Aaron here? What was he doing here? Why does seeing him still make my heart flutter? Why can’t I bring myself to explode at him like I’ve been itching to do all these years?

 

 

“Hey Steph.” Aaron said with a small smile, calling me by my middle name.

 

 

“What are you doing here Ronnie?” I asked channeling all the anger I still felt, calling him by the nickname I’d made for him.

 

 

“I came here with a couple of friends to enjoy the rest of summer. You?”

 

 

“Same.” I replied simply.

 

 

“That’s nice… Look Steph…”

 

 

“It’s Violet to you, Aaron.” I indicated, pointedly.

 

 

“Okay V…”

 

 

“What is it with you and giving me stupid nicknames like we’re long lost friends or something.. You know damn well that it’s not all rainbows and sunshine between us so stop pretending like it is.”

 

 

He sighed. “You’re right Violet and I’m sorry…about everything. I know I hurt you.”

 

 

“Yeah. That’s what you’d call it. You used me Aaron and you tossed me away when you were done like I meant nothing to you…” I tried to stop it but the tears came anyway.

 

 

“I know Violet and I’m sorry. I was such an idiot to have ever let go of you.

 

Please forgive you.” He pleaded, taking my hand in his.

 

 

“It’s not that easy buster.” I said, pulling my hand away.

 

 

“I know V. I hurt you a lot and nothing I do can ever atone for that. Can you at least just give me a chance? Please!” He pleaded again, staring at me with an expression in his eyes that made me weak in the knees.

 

 

I almost blurted out “Yes!” but I was able to catch myself before I did so instead I said “If you think your act is gonna change anything that happened, you’re sadly mistaken Aaron!”

 

 

“But Violet… Violet!” He yelled as I walked away but I gave him no audience as I walked away from him, wiping my tears away before I got back to the group.

 

 

“Violet! What’s up? We’ve been waiting for like, forever.” Anna said once I met up with them.

 

 

“I know I know. I’m sorry. I just got a little…side tracked.”

 

 

“Okay? You sure you’re okay Vi. You look a little pale. Is everything alright?” Dylan asked, taking my hand in his.

 

I smiled at him.

 

 

“Really guys, I’m fine… Let’s do this then.”

Aaron’s POV

 

 

After all these years, she still looked as radiant as she did back then and that made the guilt I felt even more torturing. I was such a fool to have used her like that and now I’m paying for it.

 

 

I only wish I could turn back the hand of time and stopped my plan from the very beginning. The look in Violet’s eyes when she found out still hunts me to this day.

I can’t get it out of my head. Seeing her now just makes it worse.

 

 

But could it be that this is the universe’s way of telling me to make things right with her and make her mine?

 

 

Because if you’re wondering, yes I still love Violet so very much. It’s just that I hurt her with my actions so much, she hates me and I know she would never give me a chance…..

 

 

But that doesn’t mean I’ll give up too because I’m not going to stop until I make Violet mine.

Dylan’s POV

 

 

Ever since Violet came back, there’s been something off about her. She keeps saying she’s alright but we’ve been friends for years and boyfriend and girlfriend for a while now so I know when something’s off.

 

 

She keeps zoning out on us as though something is bothering. It couldn’t possibly be the Kyle thing.

 

 

It hurts me too that my cousin has to suffer like so that I can be happy but I doubt it’s because of that.

 

 

“Guys, I’ll be back in a sec. I need to go get something from my room real quick.” I announced to them.

 

 

“Okay Dyl.” Kacey said smiling.

 

 

I smiled back. Unlike Kyle, she seems to be doing quite well. I can’t say yet if she’s gotten over it completely but she seems fine.

 

 

I walked back to the hotel and retrieved what I needed. On my way back to the pool, I suddenly sighted someone who I never thought I’d see again.

 

 

“Aaron!” I said, surprise etched in my tone.

 

 

“Hey Dylan!” He replied, turning to meet me.

 

 

“Don’t forget me too.” Another familiar voice said behind me as I felt her slip her hands under my arms and place a wet kiss on my cheek.

 

 

I instinctively knew who it was without looking but I just had to see. So I tore away from her and turned to see who it was.

 

 

 

Sure enough, she was the one…

 

 

“Stephanie!?”

 

 

“Yes baby. In the flesh!” She said smirking.

 

 

Oh my gosh! Tell me this isn’t happening………
