Joseph’s POV
As she told me to take anything I want I decided to do exactly as she said.
” please come with me” the guy said and I followed him.
We got to where lots of shirt is and I don’t really know which one to pick.
broda, abeg ah no know which one I go pick, so just help me chose fine fine one wey go fit my body wella” I said.
okay no problem with that” the guy said.
He started checking the size of the shirt and show me whenever he pick my size.
I just keep nodding for him to add it to the cart, he picked lots of beautiful clothes for me that the cart is almost full.
We moved to the where the trouser and shorts are and started picking them also one after the other, both trousers and shorts are much already which make the cart to be full.
I still want to pick more but I decided against it, I went to the boxer shorts and picked alot of that as well with different designs and added it to the second cart.
don’t you think it’s too much?…….I mean you can just come back some other time” the guy advised.
wetin concern you….na your money?…..mtcheeeeew……busy body” I said then then continue.
I’m sorry sir” he apologized.

I picked some pack of singlet as well before I moved to the shoe section. I pick several design and some slippers as well.
I want to pick cap but I decided against it cause of my hair so I decided to stop, by now two cart is full.

I push the cart to the counter and Mrs Richards eyes burst out in surprise.
woww joseph……looks like you want to buy the whole shop” she said smiling.
I just say make I pick am small small, so e no go cost plenty” I said.

okay” the lady said then she started using something to do the calculation.
wetin be that thing? ” I asked the guy.
it’s a machine used to calculate by scanning the price tag” the guy said.

As we waited for about almost fifteen minutes later the lady announced the price.

#198?” I said and they smiled.

it’s okay Joseph, it’s not a big deal, here take my card” Mrs Richards said smiling.

After she did the transaction they packed the clothes and everything and help us put it in the car.
We left the place and went to another place where they are selling cream soap and some other things.
She bought twelve pack of bathing soap but i don’t think the twelve pack is for me alone, she also bought perfume, cream, shampoo and some other stuff like that and we left the place then went to the car.
This is shampoo and some other things that you will need to wash your hair, so it can be clean and also smell nice” she said.

As we got home she and i took everything to my room and i thanked her for everything they are doing for me.

” Oh boy, only me get all this……ha josefu, your life don better” i said as i started unpacking.
I love all the clothes that i chose cause they are all beautiful even the trouser infact every thing is beautiful.

After arranging everything inside the cupboard, i took off the stupid ones I’m wearing including the slippers then went to take a quick shower then changed into one of the new ones.
I looked into the mirror and i can barely recognize myself.
” Josefu, na you be this?” I said to myself.
I went down to the parlor and met her tying something on her laptop and she look up when she saw me coming.
Woww…..you look nice” she complimented.
Thank you” i said as i sat on the couch watching TV.
The only thing you need to take care is your hair, you need to be dressing it and make it look good” she said.
Okay aunty, but that thing…..eemm…shaarpoo…abi wetin dey write for hin body” i said confused.
Oh you mean shampoo?” She said.
Yes that one, i no know how to use am” i said.
Oh…..okay….i will teach you how to use it and every other times you will have to do yourself…..okay” she said.

Let me finish what I’m doing” she said them continue working on her laptop.
After she finish what she’s doing we went to my room and she helped me wash it and also teach me how to do it by myself.
My people come and see dirty for my head, i was surprised when i see how dirty it is and after it was done and i checked the mirror and i was happy with what i saw.
It was now clean,neat and also smells nice.

In the evening Mr Richards came home and complimented on my dress, Mrs Richards prepared dinner and we all ate together.
When we are done eating we seated in the parlour watching a soap opera and Mr Richards phone started ringing.
Hello mama” he said then i assume that must be granny richards.
We are doing good mama, how are you” he said .

Eehm… he’s fine, he’s doing okay” he said and i assume they are talking about me.
Okay give her the phone” he said which i guess must be my mother.

Let me give the phone to him” he said then he gestured for me to have the phone and I collected the phone from him.

Okay my son, give the phone to aunty…..lemme thank am” she said and i went to give the phone to Mrs Richards.
Aunty, my mother” i said then gave the phone to her.

Mr and Mrs Richards are on their bed about to sleep as they changed into their pajamas.
So how was your day with joseph?” Mr Richards asked.
It was funny actually, that boy is really funny” Mrs Richards said.
Yeah, he’s a great kid” Mr Richards said.
We need to make him comfortable and try give him anything, cause he deserved it for what he did for us” Mr Richards added.
Yeah, all this will meaningless if not for him” Mrs Richards said.
Yeah, though i still find it weird how he knew something like that was going to happen” Mr Richards said.
Maybe that’s his gift, maybe he’s gifted” Mrs Richards said.

So about tomorrow, you will have to pick the kids up at the airport” he said.
Oh no no, I’ll be busy tomorrow, i have a meeting, i thought we agreed that you will be the one to pick them” she said.
Yeah, I’m meeting with some foreign contractor tomorrow that’s why” he said.
Well they will have to take a taxi then since none of us will be around” she said.

After Mrs Richards finish preparing breakfast she went back to get dressed then she came to wake joseph.
She got to his door and she knocked but got no response so she entered and found him sleeping soundly.
Grrrrrrrrhhh…..grrrh…..grrrhh,…grrrrrrrlrrg” was the sound he make when snoring.
Joseph…. Joseph wake up” Mrs Richards said waking him and he rolled on the bed.
” Uhhhh…..mama i don tell you say the garri too much” he said amidst sleep and she smiled.
C’mon joseph it’s me……wake up” she said hitting him a little bit harder then he opened his eyes and saw her standing.
Aahh…ahh….aunty na you” he said sitting up.
Abeg no vex, Good mawring ma” he greeted.
Good morning, i see you’re enjoying your sleep” she said.
Ahh aunty, e be like say make i no stand up again, the bed just dey call me” he said.
Sorry to stop that…..i just need to talk to you” she said.

My kids are coming today and I won’t be around to pick them up, they will take a taxi here and i want you to open the gate for them when they get here” she said.
Okay aunty, what about unculu?” He asked.
He has gone to work already, so you alone will have to stay at home, will you be okay with that?” She asked.

Your food is in the kitchen, and for lunch you can just cook and if you don’t feel like it, there’s bread and some other things in the fridge” she said.
Okay aunty, no wahala” he said.
If the kids are also hungry there’s food in the cooler for them also” she said.
Okay aunty, but you pikin they big abi small?” he asked and she smiled.
My oldest daughter Vanessa is 17, next are the twins a boy and a girl, Paul and Paulina they are 13, then the last born Katherine is 8yrs” she said.
I senior all of them, dem should know say i be their broda for here” i thought.
Don’t worry, you will get along with them just fine” she added.
Okay aunty” i said.
Okay take care….. bye” she said leaving then stopped.
Did you have another dream?” She asked.
No Aunty” he said.
Okay then, bye” she said then left.
Bye bye” I replied then went back to sleep.

An hour later he woke up and yawned like a homeless cat.
Aaah…..i swear i enjoy the sleep” he said.
Me wey never sleep for bed before, so na like this the bed just dey draw pesin” he said then got down from the bed.
He went to the bathroom and took his bath then changed into another outfit then he went down to the kitchen.
He saw his food and took it to the dinning table then start eating.
After eating and rested he decided to check out the entire building.
He went out of the house and look around and how silent everywhere is.
He went to the back of the house and he was surprised with what he saw.
No be the water wey dem swim for inside be this?” He said as he move closer to the pool.
Ha ha……plenty plenty things plenty for this place ooo” he said then after checking everywhere he went back inside.

Joseph’s POV

As i was watching the American film in the TV i started getting hungry.
Ahh…shebi e never tey when i just eat why i con dey hungry like this” i said.
This people food no dey reach anywhere oo…..abi Wich kain food we dey chop for this place” i said again.
E be like say aunty say bread dey for fridge, make i go chech” i said then went to the kitchen.
I opened the cooler she talked about and found some food in there, the same as the one i ate earlier.
I opened the fridge but what i see are frozen chicken, frozen fish, and some other uncooked stuff which make me wonder what’s happening.
abi this woman no know wetin hin dey talk again ni” i said then turn around and see another one different this.
I opened it and found lots of things inside and my belly screamed, i first pick a yoghurt and snacks and took it to the parlour and keep eating.
In a few minutes later i finished the snacks and was about to go for another when i heard a strange sound.
The sound keeps coming and i wondered where the sound is coming from, i tried to trace the sound but I don’t know where it’s coming from.
I went outside to see if it’s from outside then i heard a knock from the gate.
Aaah maybe na the pikin be that oo” i said then went to the gate.
Who e that?” I asked as i got there and there was a pause before someone answered back.
Who are you?” A female voice asked.
Na me first asked, i say who you be?” I said back.
Who are you and what are you doing in there?” Another voice said but it seems little to the first one.
I have a feeling they might be the one Mrs Richards is talking about but this place is Lagos and i have heard how people talk about this place how they steal all around.
You still dey ask me jamb questions…..e be like say you never know where you dey go” i said.
Heyy JERK, this is our house, open this gate right now” another tiny voice said.
Wetin be your name?” I asked.
ugghhh….. My name is Vanessa and immediately i entered that house I’m going go throw you out” the first voice said.
Ohh…na you…..ah no know say na you oo” i said then tried to open the gate but I don’t know.
What kind of dumb african boy is this?” A boy voice said.
Ha ha….na me this small small pikin dey abuse so” i said as i continue to open the door.
See i no sabi open this gate oooo” i said to them.
Just give us the key dumbass” Vanessa said.
No key for here oo, i no see any key oo” i said.
Oh God, who is this crazy boy, you don’t have the key and you want to the gate, which village did they brought you from?” She said.
Na from Abule Alugogo” i answered.
Just go get the key from inside you this stupid boy” she said and i ran back inside to look for the key.
I found the key in right on the shelve and i grabbed it and storm outside.
Can’t you be more faster, I’m dying out here already” one of shouted.
Why did mom and dad left the house for this crazy guy?” I heard the boy said and i got angry with their words.
See all of una, if you know say you wan enter you must beg me” i said.
Is this guy crazy?….. in our own house?” I heard the boy said.
You must be crazy if you think we are gonna say that” a tiny little voice said.
Eehnn….no wahala, e means say you wan sleep for there be that” i said.
Am i dreaming?….. is this actually happening?…..like seriously” i heard vanessa said.
Let us enter you this stupid boy” the boy said.
All of una, e be like say you no know who you dey talk to” i said.
They refused to apologise and i also decided not to open for them, i went back to the house and pick another yoghurt and snack then went to eat it at the gate expecting their plea.
About thirty minutes later they haven’t apologized and i also didn’t leave the gate.
Okay fine, sorry…..now open the door” vanessa said.
Eh eh….oya the second person” i said.
Are you serious at all?” Vanessa said.
I serious like mad” i said.
Okay sorry” another girl said.
Good another pesin” i said.
Sorry” a boy said.
Good another pesin” i said.
Nooooo, I’m not saying sorry to this unfortunate nincompoop” the tiny little voice said and i was surprised.
Kate, just say it already and get it over with” Vanessa said then after a while finally speak.
S.ooorrry” she said sluggishly.
Good” i said then slot the key into the keyhole and open the gate.
And i saw beautiful faces but angry faces before me and i know immediately that my stay in this house isn’t going to be pleasurable.
You are so dead” Vanessa said in anger.
