BELLA

 

 

 

When I got home, my mom was already back. I maintained a cool face even though I was down inside. I embraced her warmly and we shared tears of joy. I was glad I had my mom even after going through all what I passed through.

 

I slept peacefully that night though my mind still wringled me in exchanging my virginity all for money.

 

I think I was quite missing Bryan though, after all I’ve gotten used to sleeping in bed with someone. I was a little bit scared.

 

 

 

MORNING

 

I woke up with a light fever. My head ached and my tummy grumbled, or is it because I slept all through the night with fear?

 

I quickly had my bath and dressed up. I would be going to pay Lisa a visit today.

 

I walked to my mom’s room and greeted her warmly. I told her that I was going to pay Lisa a visit.

 

“But won’t you eat before going. You know food is the best medicine to good health”. My mom said.

 

“Am fine, maybe I’ll take something at Lisa’s house”. I retaliated.

 

“But come to think of it” she held my face and continued. “You look pale, are you sure you’re ok?” She asked.

 

 

 

“Am fine mom. It’s just that I have a light fever”. I added and faked a smile.

 

“Are you sure you are not keeping anything away from me?”. she questioned.

 

“Am ok mom, you don’t have to worry. I’ll be right back.

 

I kissed my mom good bye and walked out. I hope it’s not what am thinking.

I got to Lisa’s few minutes after I left my house. She was around and obviously enjoying herself.

 

She hugged me hard as if I was gonna escape from her life. Funny Lisa.

 

 

 

 

“You look so chubby and round. What have you been eating” Lisa asked and held my face.

 

“Am ok. I don’t eat much food and you know it.”

 

“I pray it’s not what am thinking”. She said and sat down heavily on the couch.

 

“What are you thinking?”.

 

 

 

She waved that aside and brought in another topic.

 

 

 

“So how is your prince charming?”

 

“Prince charming? who’s my prince charming?” I asked somewhat confused.

 

“Oh! I mean Bryan”.

 

I faked a simple smile and stared at her confused.

 

“I Know that face? Are you guys no longer a thing?”.

 

“He asked me to leave his house and i did’nt have a choice but to go”.

 

 

 

“oh! That’s so heartbreaking”.

 

“I Know. But that’s life for you, I mean, I have to move on”.

 

“Yeah, that’s true”.

 

I broke down in tears after Lisa had said some words about Bryan to me.

 

 

 

“What is it Bella? Why are you crying?” She asked.

 

I tried to open my mouth but nothing came out of it.

 

“I don’t know Lisa but I miss Bryan…. I think am in love with him”. I said admist tears.

 

 

 

“Oh…… that’s so touching….. How about him, do he feel so for you?”

 

“I can’t really tell Lisa, I don’t know”.

 

 

 

Lisa exhaled deeply.

 

“That’s really tough but I think he will come begging. You Know guys and their pride. But just try and move on maybe you’ll find another guy like him someday.

 

 

Not quite long in the sitting room, Bella excused herself. She was acting somewhat weird and covering her mouth as if she was going to throw up. I followed her until she came in contact with the water closet.

 

 

 

She threw up and was looking at if she has just seen a ghost. I hoped it’s not what am thinking.

 

She rinsed her face and held her stomach still breathing out hard. She fell to the floor.

“What is wrong with you Bella ? what suddenly happened to you?” I asked and held her face as I shook with fright.

 

 

 

“I don’t know lisa…… I think am having fever”.

 

I stood up from the floor and watched her for a while.

 

“Are you sure this is not pregnancy?” I asked somehow searching her face for an answer.

 

She stared at me badly.

 

“How can you say such a thing? Of course I am not pregnant. How can I be pregnant?”

 

 

 

“I don’t know. I can’t tell. obviously am not a doctor. But don’t tell me Bryan did this to you, I won’t take it”.

 

 

 

She stood up from the floor, washed her hand and grabbed her hand bag from the chair.

 

“I will come visit you some other time, remember my mom is back and I have to keep her company. See ya”. And that was how she left.

 

I watched her as she left, I think it’s high time Bella stands up for herself. She is so fond of keeping things to herself.
