The sight of Nnekah with the little boy almost gave me a heart attack. My heart was racing, my body was shaking, my mind was spinning with over a hundred thoughts, trying to figure out why Nnekah had a little baby with her.

I noticed she hadn’t seen me yet, so I did all I could to get her attention but all my efforts were in vain, as her attention was still fixed on the little baby, trying to get him to stop crying.

Just as I was almost running out of ideas of how I could catch her attention, the nurse at the counter shouted my name, requesting that I come for my drugs. At the mention of my name, Nnekah immediately turned and our eyes jammed together.

She almost dropped dead when she saw me and I could see the shock on her face as I walked towards the counter. “It’s you again” she said and I replied by saying “Where you expecting someone else?”. She replied stammering “I, I, I, actually actually just came to get something”. “I didn’t know you had a son and where’s your ring” I asked with a disgusted look.

Just as she was about to utter another word, the nurse said “Madam here’s your child’s drugs and please bring him back after one week for another check up”. I was dead confused as she collected the drugs and immediately walked out.

“Could that be Charles son?” I thought to myself as my heart keep beating 2× faster. I took my medicine and walked to where Derrick was seated. “Please can we go now?” I said, still shaking from the shock. “Why are you looking like you just saw a ghost” Derrick asked. I didn’t know what to say as my head wouldn’t stop spinning with thoughts.

Derrick got up and held my hands as we walked out of the hospital. He dropped me off at my house and had to go immediately because he had some appointments to catch up with.

Few minutes later my phone rang and it was Charles calling. “Hello, I’m at your door” he said. I wanted to flare up asking why he was there but I needed him to come and clear the doubts I had on my mind, so I opened the door for him.

“You didn’t tell me you had a son” I said as tears started flowing down my eyes. “What exactly are you talking about now?” He asked looking tired. “I saw Nnekah

today and she had your son with her” I said crying as I sat on the bare floor. “Whaaaaatttttt!!” Charles shouted, “Babe you have to believe me please, I didn’t know she has a child and I’m just as shocked as you are” he said.

At this point, I didn’t trust Charles anymore so I couldn’t believe any word that came out of his lips. “So you are trying to tell him that you aren’t engaged to Nnekah or have a child with her huh? Is that what you are trying to say?” I asked looking into his eyes. “Babe you have to believe me, I did some things with her but quickly cut off ties when I knew you had found out about her. I’m not engaged neither do I have a child with her, you just have to believe me” he said as few tears dropped off his eyes.

“I don’t trust you anymore Charles and I would appreciate it if you leave my house” I said still crying. He walked to were I was seated and sat with me. I shifted and he held my hands crying. “Baby I know I cheated and I’m so sorry, please let go cause I don’t want to lose you”, he said crying.

I turned and looked into his eyes, “I love Charles, I really do” I said to myself. He drew my head and placed it on his chest and I laid there crying. “I miss you baby and can’t think of being with someone else that isn’t you” he said sobbing.

I was in deeps thoughts as I laid on his chest, I was thinking about Derrick and didn’t know why. Charles lifted my head up and almost kissed me but my phone rang and I looked to see who was calling and it was Derrick.

“Hello, how are you doing” he asked, “I’m fine and you?” I replied, “I’m good, how’s your health now?” He asked, “I think I’m getting better”, I said smiling. Charles on the other hand was feeling uncomfortable.

When I was done talking to Derrick, Charles asked who it was and I told him it wasn’t his business to know. “Are you seeing someone else?” He asked, “you lost

the right to ask me that when you cheated on me” I replied pulling myself off his chest. “Do you seriously want to pick on that as an excuse to cheat too?” He asked, “We are done with this conversation and it’s time for you to leave” I said arising from where I was seated.

“You are mine and no one is going to take you away from me” he said as he walked out. I stood there trying to comprehend what that statement meant. I sat on my couch, thinking about everything that happened all day and couldn’t eat.

In the evening, I was about to retire to bed, when I heard a knock on the door. “Who could be looking for me by this hour of the day” I said to myself. I looked through the window to check if I would see Charles car but I didn’t. “Who’s that!” I shouted but no one replied. I stood in front of my door and shouted again “who’s that!”. I heard a slight voice of a female saying “It’s me please open”. “Don’t you have a name” I replied and the person started laughing.

“So you think you can take my man, you think you can make a fool out of me, you think you are more beautiful than I am, you would meet your doom soon, stay away from Charles” the voice behind the door said. I was scared and started panicking, “who could this be” I asked myself.

I quickly picked up my phone and called Derrick. “Hello dear” he said, “Derrick I’m scared, someone is outside my door threatening me”, I said panicking. “Hold on and don’t open the door, I’m coming immediately” he said and cut the call.

I was so scared and started praying. Derrick arrived in no time with an escort of 2 police men in a Range Rover. I could see the flashes of his car light on my window. Soso! He shouted as he knocked on the door. I quickly rushed out and ran into his arm crying. The police asked if I saw the person’s face and I said “No”.

We entered his car and drove off. Derrick asked if I wanted to stay at a hotel for the night and I told him I’d rather be with him. We arrived at Derrick house and it was a mansion. The sight of the water fall was amazing and I quickly curtailed my excitement.

Derrick asked if I wanted to eat and I said “No”. He showed me a guest room where I would be staying for the night and I thanked him. The television in the parlor was still on so I sat down to ease off my anxiety with the program going on. I sat there for over 1 hour before Derrick walked in.

“Why are you still up by this time” he asked, “I’m still panicking from what happened at my house” I replied. “You don’t have to get yourself worked up” he said as he sat down. “You have been far too kind and I appreciate” I said with tears flowing down my eyes. “I Love You” he replied in a low tone.

What!! Did Derrick just say he loves me. OMG! I must be dreaming, I said to myself. I looked at his eyes and said “How do you know that?”, He replied saying “the first day I met you at the beach, there was just something about you that I couldn’t resist, I haven’t been able to get you off my mind since then” he said looking into my eyes. I was drowning in confusion and didn’t know what to say.

“Don’t rush it, I would give you enough time to think about it” he said arising from where he was seated. “I’ll be in my room if you need anything” he said as he walked away.

“What am I going to do?” I asked myself. I laid back on the couch thinking and suddenly stop when my phone beeped. I looked and saw Charles message which read “You are mine and no one can take you away from me”. I got scared and turned off my phone.

The next day, Derrick had to drop me off early so I could prepare for work. On arrival, I saw Charles seated in front of my door. Immediately Derrick got down from the car to help me open my door, he got a big punch on his neck and turned to see who hit him. It was Charles!
