Chapter Twenty Two

Theme: Can’t say goodbye

“I don’t get it, why didn’t you make the wish, like seriously why?.” Caro utters.

“Well, I wanted to, but I just couldn’t, I felt this was meant to be. Wishes don’t just come true, okay, but ours came true Caro and I just wanted to see how it will all work out, I’m sorry for not informing you, you had a right to know.”

“Okay, I get where you’re coming from but I guess the fact that you didn’t make the first wish gives us a little more hope, so we are going to redo the whole wish thing before heading back to bed. Please Cassy, I need you to make the wish, this time around.”

“I’ll do it I promise.”

“Great, so goodnight bro, goodnight Cassy, hopefully by tommorow morning we should be back in our original bodies.” Caro says.

“Yeah, hopefully. Goodnight Caro.” Cassy says.

“Goodnight sis.” Mike says and then Caro cut the call.

“So you think this will work.” Lucy asked.

“Yeah, maybe, I don’t know.”Caro replies her back, a little bit not so sure.

“Well I’m really gonna miss you, if the whole wishing thing does work, you’re like the only true friend I’ve ever got.” Lucy utters, smiling sadly at Caro.

“I’ll miss you too, Lucy and thanks for always having my back, I really appreciate.” Caro replies her and then went on to hug her.

“You’re welcome, so are you going to say goodbye to Justin.” Lucy asked.

“Well yeah, maybe I should.”

“Yeah of course, you should say goodbye.” Lucy says, and Caro separates from Lucy and smiled a little at her before walking out of her room and heads straight to the art studio, but Justin wasn’t there, so she heads to his room next, she took in a very deep breath and raised her hands up to knock on the door but for some reason she couldn’t bring herself to knock on his door, so she turned around and went back to her room.

“Wow, that’s awfully fast.” Lucy comments on seeing Caro back.

“I couldn’t Lucy, I can’t say goodbye.” Caro yells out.

“But you have to say goodbye to him.” Lucy pressed on.

“I can’t Lucy and please let’s leave it at that. I would love to be alone, so please leave.” Caro says, and Lucy sighs before standing up from the couch she’s sitting on and then heads straight to the door.

“Lucy.” Caro calls out.

“Yeah.”

“I’m sorry if I sounded like a jerk earlier on, and if this wish thing really thosw work out tommorow, then I guess I should say goodbye to you, so.. goodbye Lucy.”

“I’m not the one you should be saying goodbye to, a certain person needs to hear that more.” Lucy replies her and then leaves the room.

“Oh fu.ck.” Caro utters, and faced palm herself. She sighs heavily and then walks over to the window, she opens it wide and then stare at the evening sky before saying, “I wish I was back in my body.” She let’s out a huge breath, and wipes away the stray tears running down her cheeks before heading to bed to have a goodnight sleep.

“So……” Mike drawls, staring at the stars in the sky, they are currently sitting outside their house, in their normal spot.

“So………” Cassy replies back, also staring at the evening sky.

“If this really works out, it means , I might not get to see you ever again.” Mike states, taking her hand.

“I guess so.” Cassy replies back.

“Hmm, well I just want you to know that I’ll be thinking of you, every single minute, you’ll always be in my heart, Cassy.” Mike says and kiss both her hands knuckles.

“You’ll always be in my heart too, Mike.” Cassy replies back a little bit tearful.

“I don’t just like you Cassy, I’ve fallen in love with you, I love you Cassy Williams David.” Mike says, and kiss the top of her head.

“I love you too, Mike Benjamin Osaro.” Cassy replies him back, wiping away the few strands of tears rolling down her cheek.

“Hey don’t cry, we will figure out something later, but for now, I’ll leave you to make that wish, good bye Cassy.” Mike says, hugging her.

“Goodbye Mike.” Cassy replies, hugging him back, Mike gives her a sad smile separating from her, he gives her another kiss in her forehead before walking back into the house.

“Well i guess this is it, wow, well I enjoyed my time here while it lasted, who would I’ve thought I’ll ever enjoy living as a poor Nigerian girl.” She says letting out a chuckle. The poor people life might be hard, but their life over here is full of happiness and joy and she also love the closeness she had with Caro’s mother, and she might have called the Nigerian food disgusting when she saw it at first but one taste of it and she fell in love with it, well she will surely miss the life she had here but she would miss Mike mostly.

Cassy let’s out a huge breath, wiping away more stray tears from her face, she looks up to the evening sky before saying, “I wish I was back in my body.”

Caro groaned on the uncomfortable mattress, and wonder why her, soft plushy mattress, was now hard as a rock. *Wait a minute my mattress is now hard as rock, and that could only mean one thing* she exclaims in her sleep, sitting up on the bed immediately, she looks around the unfamiliar, yet familiar room and yes just like she thought, she was back in her own house, she carries her hands up and yeah she was back in her in body.

“Oh my God, I’m back.” Caro utters.

Tick, tick, tick, tick. The familiar yet strange noise penetrates through Cassy’s dream, and she groans in her sleep, annoyed by the sound, she use her hands to try

and find the alarm clock, she hits it once her hands found it and then the sound stops.

*Wait a minute, that sound, it’s from my alarm clock, back in my room in America, does this means, oh my gosh.* She exclaims in her sleep and sits up immediately.

She looks around her room in awe, she’s back in her room, back in her body, the wish worked. Wow.

“Good morning Caro.” Lucy says brightly walking into the room, but stopped in her tracks on seeing the look on Cassy face.

“Wait a minute, are you Cassy or Caro, did the whole wishing thing work.” Lucy ask staring at Cassy, intently.

“Yeah it did, the wish work.”Cassy answers her.

“Oh shit you’re back.”
