“You are so full of yourself Fostinah.” Chabota said.

 

“Icikalipa cumfwa umwine” Fostinah said.

 

“Anyway I can not force you to follow my advice but what you should know is that I have done my part as a friend. And when things go sour for you, i will not pity you.”

 

“We know each other well and you will always support me.”

 

“Yeah I will support but try to read some implications of divorce on the link I will send you on WhatsApp. Just click on it and it will take you to a website where you will read more about divorce and it’s outcomes.” “Okay I will check it out”

It was very clear that Fostinah had made up her mind on divorce.

On the next day, Fostinah went to work as usual. She worked as if there was no any wrangle at home the past days.

Peter was at grandfather’s home and spent the whole day home. He then remembered that he had not seen or talked to her children. He decided to go and drive them home to buy an opportunity to see and talk to them.

 

 

When it was around 3pm, he drove out heading to school of his children. He found the kids about to enter the bus.

 

When his children saw him, they ran to him and hugged him. He went to the director to let him know that he had come to pick his kids.

 

He got in his vehicle with his kids and drove off the school premises.

 

“Dad, where are you staying?” Asked the eldest daughter to him.

 

“Am at grandfather’s place” Peter amswered.

 

“Why?” Asked the other daughter.

 

“There are some things am helping out there.”

 

“So when will you be done?”

 

“Very soon. I will come back”

 

“I am going with you today” said the son.

 

“What about school? Will you stop?” He asked him.

 

“You will be bringing me”

 

“I will be very busy. Listen to me, i eill come very soon. Just be a good boy” he said

 

“And dad I don’t like it, mummy yesterday gave me a small piece of meat. You

 

should beat her” the son said.

 

“Oh really?”

 

“Yes Dad”

 

“Don’t worry. I will tell her to give the biggest piece today”

 

“Okay Dad”

 

Peter went on catching up with his kids as he drove home. When he got home, Fostinah was not yet back. So he had to stay and leave when she would come.

Fostinah knocked off from work and quickly got into her car ruahing home as she knew that the kids were alone. As she joined highway,she just felt the steering wheel turning to one side on its on. She wondered what the problem could have been. She then packed by the side to check what was wrong with her. “Oh no!” She lamented seeing her front wheel flat.

 

The front wheel was flat. She didn’t know what to do there. She had a spare wheel but she could not change it. Dressed in a nurse uniform and a chitenge material, there was no way, she could even remove the wheel.

 

She stood there thinking of what to do. She then thought of the kids home whom she knew were alone.

 

“Who will change the wheel for me?” She asked herself.

 

 

She remembered how Peter used to be of help in such situations but she didn’t want to call him.

 

“If I call him, he will think, I have forgiven him” she thought to herself.

 

Vehicle were passing her as she stood there not knowing what to do.

 

“I will call Peter to come and do this work for me but I will tell him that I haven’t forgiven him” she said as she got her phone to call him.

 

Before the could call him, she just saw a range Rover which had passed her coming back in reverse using the pavement.

 

She wondered who the vehicle belonged to. As she was in that state of not knowing, a gentleman got off the vehicle amd walked towards her. The man was dressed in a black suit, white shirt and a red tie. He was undoubtedly coming from his office.

 

As the man walked to Fostinah wearing a huge smile on his face, Fostinah

 

remembered the man.

 

“Hello”

 

“Hi” she said.

 

“Remembered me?”

 

“Yeah, Josne”

 

“Oh you don’t forget. Is your car down?” He asked.

 

“Yes, it has flat tire”

 

“Is help coming?”

 

“No, am about to call for help”

 

“Don’t worry help has come already.” He said.

 

Josne unbuttoned his jacket and removed it. He then put it on the honey of Fostinah’s car.

 

“Let me hold it” she said to which he gave her.

 

Josne went on folding the sleeves of his shirt. Fostinah was watching in awe wondering how a smartly dressed man can remove his suit to work on a car. He got a toolsbox from his car. He jerked the car and removed the wheel. He then got the spare wheel and mounted it to the car. He then removed the Jack amd put the fault wheel into her cars boot.

 

“You are good to go now” he said.

 

“Am really grateful.” She said.

 

“Yoi dont have to worry about that. But I will ask for favour from you in return for

 

my service” he said.

 

“Mmmmm which is?”

 

“Last time we met, I told you my name but you didn’t tell me your name. Am

 

asking for your name”.

 

“Oh sorry. Am Fostinah”

 

“Oh Fostinah derived from fostering things. Am sure you really foster things.” “Oh come one. Here is your jacket” she said smiling.

 

“Thank you. And here is my card, you can call me on that.” He said giving her his business card.

 

“No problem. Thank you I got to go” she said.

 

“Yeah sure. Drive safely.”

 

Fostinah got into her car and started driving as she slowly joined the road. She waved back at Josne who was waving at her as he went to his car. “He is such a gentleman.” She said as she went on.

 

Fostinah got home a bit late. As she entered the yard she wondered what on Earth Peter had come to do at their home. She went and packed the car in the garage. She then went inside the house. She found Peter sitted chatting with the kids. The kids ran to her when they saw her.

 

“Guys take my handbag to my bedroom. All of you go” she said.

 

Fostinah and Peter remained the two of them in the living.

 

“Ehe, and why are you here?” She asked him without even greeting him.

 

“I had brought the kids back home so I had to baby sit them since you were not yet back” he said.

 

“Okay,now am back, you can leave” she said.

 

“But i have to say bye to the kids.”

 

“I will tell them. Go”

 

Peter stood up and walked outside as Fostinah closed the door behind him.

 

“Stupid man” she said walking to her bedroom.

 

Peter got into his vehicle and drove off.
