Mr. Williams and Austin were seating on a long bench

with their parents.

“Papa, Mama, since that day that man came to my house

threatened him before me, I tried all I could to make him

this girl for good but he will not listen. that is why I brought

here, for you to talk to him too. perhaps, he will listen to

you” Mrs. Williams complained.

“Austin” Mazi Ikem Austin’s father called.

“Papa” Austin answered

“What is it in this girl that is making you risk your life

her again and again” Mr. Ikem asked.

“Love papa. I love shantel” Replied Austin.

“Have the

so called love blinded your eyes? the parents of the girl

said

and Austin turned to her.

“Mama, I’m destined to die because of shantel, Nobody

can stop me” Austin replied.

“Odinma” Mrs. loveth said in Igbo adjusting her wrapper.

“This is not time of sounding philosophical. This is time

face REALITY. I will advice you to drop this foolish dream

yours please, please oo oh” Mr. William pleaded.

“Even

if we allow you to go on with your plans, what makes you

that chief Richard will allow you to marry his daughter?

one could see Mrs. Doris seating up on the bed.

“Sorry if I sound rude but, were both of you in love before

got married?” Asked shantel looking from her mum to

dad.

“Shantel, you said you want to talk to us, so please, if

want to talk, talk and stop asking questions” Mrs. Doris

said.

“Okay. since last two weeks, I conducted a research on

both

of you and from my findings, dad was already a billionaire

before he got married to you.

went on her kneels.

“Shantel goodnight” Mr. Richard said. shantel stare at

a while and quietly stood up.

“OK daddy” She replied and cried out running to her

Austin was buying something from a store when a Benz

car

stopped

beside the store and three gun men came out. they pointed

a

gun at Austin, making him to raised up his hands. they

beat him and

put

him inside the booth of their car after which they speed

off.
