A Letter To My Boyfriend – Episode 5
Shantel sat on a chair with A piece of paper and pen,
writing
a letter to her boyfriend which reads:-
“DEAR MY LOVE.
by the time you get this letter I will be in the U.S. my
Father
has brought another plan to make sure that we are
permanently
separated. this time, my hands are tied. I have agreed
to
leave because it will bring me the bright future you so
much
desire for me. I have been offered admission to study
medicine,
indeed, goodbye is the saddest thing to say, the only
consultation
I have, I have to say to you is that I’m not going away
forever.
I am going to come back for you because you and I
belong
together. I LOVE YOU”

MINUTES LATER.
Shantel was already on her way to U.S. Mrs. Doris
was
seating and enjoying her drinks when Clara came
in with a letter.
“Ma, shantel gave me this to forward to Austin and
I decided
to bring it to you instead of him” Clara said. Mrs. Doris
took
the letter from her and tear it after reading.
“Put
it into the dust bin”
“Ok ma” Clara replied and left.

Austin sat at inspector Sammy’s office wondering
why he was summoned.
“You have been transferred to calabar prison” inspector
Sammy said shocking
Austin.
“Why?” Austin asked angrily.
“How will my family be able to locate me?” Austin added.
“Will
you shut up my friend. shut up, look respect yourself.
nonsense” inspector
Sammy shouted at him as Austin kept staring at him
helplessly.

The Following Day
Mr. Richard and inspector Sammy was seen seating
opposite
each other in his sitting room.
“You
mean his now in calabar?” Mr. Richard asked to be sure.
“He
left for calabar this morning”
“Really”
“Yes Chief”
“Well well well. well this is good job. This is a very good
job”
“thank you very much chief. than you”
“Well
I’m a man of my words too, here is the check of
500thousand naira” he
said handling the check over to him.
“Thank you very much chief I’m so grateful”
“You’re most welcome”
“I will take my leave now”
“One more thing. If you ever receive any letter from my
daughter
to that idiot. Bring it to me”
“Consider it done. Thank you chief. may you live
long” inspector

AT UNITED STATE.
It was 19:00 already. The evening air was chilling as
the
moon kept shinning. shantel walked round the garden
thinking
about Austin her boyfriend. she was on green gown with
a
head tie she tied.
“What is going on for God’s sake. is 3months I arrived here
in
america and since then, I have written 7 letters to him
without
getting a reply to any. could it be he has been harmed?
God forbid.
Has daddy succeeded in separating us? is it possible
that
out of sight has become out of mind in our case?
could
the thousands of miles kill the love he has for me so
soon?
no. I won’t let it happen. I am abandoning my project
here
to return to him in Nigeria. I belong to him” shantel
said to herself as tears kept dropping from her eyes.
