Austin sat on a chair looking so dirty and rough. He sat
opposite
his brother, Williams, who bailed him out of the prison;

he kept looking round the house.

thank God for you and what he has done in our family

“Thank you sir” Austin replied looking sad.
“Brother,

“Shantel is not in the country right now. I leant her
parents
sent her off to America to study”
“No wonder” Austin exclaimed.

“Hmm. if chief Richard gets to know that you’re after

daughter again! I’m afraid he will kill you this time around.

her” Mr. Williams said.

know how to” Austin said.

burning in
annoyance. Meanwhile, Sammy who brought the letter

standing beside him like a bodyguard.
“And you said this letter was delivered this morning?” mr. Richard asked.
“yes sir”
“Any information about that idiot?” Mr. Richard asked.
“My chief.
this is just his 8 years in far away calabar. He still

13 more years to go. 13 good years to go” replied
inspector Sammy
“And by that time. My daughter would have married a

man and given me grand children” Mr. Richard said
smiling

The gateman gently opened the gate, paving way

the Lexus jeep which ride in. Shantel ran and embrassed
her
parents as one could see the maids rushing for her
luggages.
“Welcome home” Mr. and Mrs. Richard said smiling.
“Thanks. Home sweet home”
“Welcome doctor shantel” Mr. and Mrs. Richard echoed
walking her inside.

inspector Sammy was seen seating in his office with
shantel
who came looking for Austin.
“I don’t understand. How do you mean Austin is no

here. where is he?” shantel asked inspector Sammy.

five years ago. He was involved in a criminal act and
was
transferred into a secret prison with hard labour for
40years
to serve” inspector Sammy lied.
“You’re lying to me aren’t you?” shantel asked.
“I have
no reason to. I just told you the truth and nothing but
the truth.
and as for his way about, I don’t know. please if you don’t
mind do excuse me.
I’m
really busy” inspector Sammy said. shantel stare at him
and left angrily.
“Idiot” Sammy said laughing.
