Episode 2

 

 

 

“Are you alright madam?” the secretary asked and before Matilda could reply, she collapsed hitting her head on the table, before then reached the ground.

 

 

 

Matilda woke up in the hospital with a pain in the head.

 

“Ouch” she sounded faintly as she touched her bandaged head.

 

“Thank God you are awake, you gave me a scare darling. I should get the doctor to check up on you.” Mrs Banda, Matilda’s mum said as she excused herself to get the doctor.

 

 

 

The doctor came in with Mrs Banda some minutes later and checked her pulse.

 

The doctor explained that she just suffered Orthostatic hypotension, a drop in blood pressure that occurs when she transition from sitting or lying down to standing. This condition is common in people of all ages.

 

 

 

As the body adjusts to the position change there may be a brief period of dizziness. This is what some people refer to as “seeing stars” when they get up and she became unconscious because of the force in which her head hit a hard surface. Also, she’s dehydrated and that’s why he had to pass on drip into her body system.

 

After the doctor had spoken, she remembered she hasn’t taken anything since morning.

 

“Mummy, I think I’m hungry” she said in a low voice after the doctor had left.

 

“Let me get you something to eat then, I will be back soon.” Her mother said and hurriedly left.

 

 

 

She checked her phone and saw some missed calls from Becky, Joan and even Kamulaza, her boyfriend. Oh sorry, her recent Ex.

 

She decided to read through her message before calling her friends.

 

The message reads:

 

Can you please tell your mother to stop calling me. I’m too busy for any explanation that your mum might be calling for. Just tell her I’m simply done with you cause I might disrespect her if she disturbs my peace again.

 

 

 

Son of a b*tch, that’s who you are Kamulaza.” Matilda find herself saying to vociferously.

 

“How could I have loved this animal? Insult my mom and watch me destroy everything you represent” she continued ranting endlessly even as tear drops were visible on her cheek.

 

Her mother entered and saw her talking angrily all by herself, she rushed to her and gave her a hug and then Matilda released all the tears she has been holding back.

 

Cry my baby, let it all out, hold nothing back. I am hear for you” her mother said sobbing as well.

 

She later stopped crying and then thanked her mom for giving her a shoulder to cry on.

 

 

 

“Mom, please don’t call Kamulaza again cos we are no more an item” she finally said

 

Oh now I understand” her mom replied with an apologetical look.

 

Probably the stupid jerk is with one of his b*tches when you were calling. Do you know that I caught him pants down with a slut he once introduced as his cousin? He’s such a fool to loose a wonderful lady like myself. Mummy, sure

 

 

there’s nothing wrong with me, but that fool.” Matilda talked with her mother, this time audibly. Her mother only gave her a listening ear and assured her that she’s a treasure that her Exs couldn’t understand and appreciate.

 

Her mother watched her as she guzzled her food.

 

The doctor administered fludrocortisone, which will help increase her blood volume and advised she stays hydrated always. She spent 24hours at the hospital before she was discharged. She was giving a week sick leave so as to stabilize her health.

 

 

 

The next day was Saturday which gives her friends opportunity to come over to her place early.

 

 

 

“I’m so sorry you went through all of this for that bastard sake after all you did for him. Gosh, I wish I could lay my hands on him and rip out his heart. It’s his lost baby, entirely his lost” Becky said comforting her friend.

 

“Tilda darling, I agree with everything Becky said and be rest assured that every cloud has a silver lining. Your own man will definitely come soon that will treat you like the queen you are” Joan added.

 

 

 

“Babes, thanks for being here for me but really I’m fine. You should know that I have already developed a thick skin for break up. And I’m not ready to go into any relationship for now.” Matilda said assuringly

 

 

 

I understand you dear, but when love hurts, it’s still love that will heal. You need a man soon, to get better quickly” Joan said

 

I hope you ain’t deaf when I said I’m no longer interested in any relationship for now, so why stressing it? I really do not want to get angry please.” Matilda said feeling irritated.

 

Joan, Joan, Joan” Becky called repeatedly

 

Yes, what is it madam?” Joan replied

 

 

It’s a pity you really don’t know you have a problem. Are you for real? Even if she’ll jump into any relationship soon, do you expect her to tell you this right now? She’s just getting back out of the jaws of hurts, I expect you to cut her some slacks.” Becky said.

 

I only seek your happiness, Matilda darling. I know how much you love to be in a matrimony like me, and that’s why I’m only trying to convince you never to say never to love” Joan defended

 

Well in that case, why not let her get down with Muzo, your perfect hearthrob or maybe yourself? Becky challenged.

 

 

 

It will be to your amusement that your bitchy attitude will not upset but entertain me today. Go on babes, I won’t just watch you throw words at each other, I will enjoy every bit of it if it really gets down to physical fight. You guys are really crazy, and the fact that i am friends with you both makes me really feel kinda of crazy tonight” Matilda said jokingly which surprised her friends.

 

Becky and Joan looked at each other and then to Matilda obviously still surprised.

 

 

 

I think my bestie has finally developed a sense of humor after break up with Kamulaza and I think I’m now liking Kamulaza for breaking up with you” Becky said in jest.

 

That’s a very good idea girl, but rather than having a sense of humor like my darling Matilda, you will only grow responsible to act more like a human being than an animal” Joan said jokingly at the expense of Becky.

 

 

 

Becky threw pillow at Joan, and it soon became the battle of pillows among the three friends. They played and laughed until their stomach hurt.

 

I think I’m famished” Joan said after she had comported herself.

 

I think you should go home now and cook for your husband while Becky and I, eat as single” Matilda said.

 

“Point of correction babe, I have never been single, presently not single and won’t be single in the nearest future” Becky told her friends with a wide grin.

 

 

 

“Frankly speaking, babe how are you doing it? Despite how you treat guys like thrash, how do you make them always adore you? I hope you ain’t doing anything diabolic” Matilda asked Becky

 

Of course not. Don’t you trust me enough? I only know how to play my games right by dating multiple guys and giving them the best f*ck” Becky said happily.

 

Babe, don’t let this spoilt brat coax you with her sugar coated mouth into her unhealthy sexual lifestyle” Joan said advising Matilda.

 

 

 

“Didn’t we ask the Mrs “Joan” to go home and make dinner for her husband” Becky asked Matilda jokingly.

 

“Of course we did. I don’t understand why a married woman should be out by almost 10pm? Matilda replied.

 

” I don’t feel like going home” Joan said with all seriousness

 

Becky and Matilda asked why and she blurted out ” cos I’m sick and tired of that lazy bastard”

 

” Who?” Matilda and Becky chorused.
