The message brought in some other emotions in both of them. Peter was afraid that the beautiful conversation and peace which had just happened between them would mean nothing due to it. Fostinah also started feeling some rage against Peter thinking that he was still cheating on her. Off late then it was evident that Peter had no girlfriend but that message confirmed it all that he still had some attachments to other women.
Fostinah didn’t say anything but kept on looking at her husband who shaking with fear as well as hatred for whoever sent such a text on such inopportune time. What made it worse was the fact that the number was not saved on his phone. It was a new number.
“Fostinah I can explain this. I also don’t know who this person is as you can see it’s a new number.” He said.
Fostinah still didn’t want to say anything because the words that were coming to her throat were nothing but hurtful ones which would have made them stay without talking to each other for millennium.
“Let me call back this line. I will put it on loud so that you here who this person is. I am not cheating on you” Peter said confidently knowing that he had no one at that point.
Before he could dial the number on his phone, a message tone rang on Fostinah’s phone. She got it and found a text from a new number which read:
“HEY, THAT HUSBAND IS NOT YOURS ALONE. I WILL BE COMING
TOMORROW TO VISIT YOU. I SHOULD FIND SOMETHING GOOD FOR
ME. FROM YOUR FELLOW WIFE”
“Who is this person?” Asked Fostinah.
“Wait a minute, let us compare the numbers we see if they are the same” he said. The found that the numbers were different meaning they messages were sent by two different people.
Before saying anything much, Fostinah called back the number which sent her the text.
“Hello fellow wife” a lady answered on the other end.
“Hello, sorry I haven’t recognized the voice” Fostinah said.
“Oh I knew it it since it’s been long when we last talked. It’s me Tamarah”
“Ndiwe kopusa maningi” said Fostinah. (You are very stupid)
“What have I done? Is he not our husband?” Tamarah asked while laughing at. “Anyway I won’t say much. Are you coming for real tomorrow?” “Yes, i will come. I should find my favourite food.”
“Don’t worry, you will find your favourite beating”
“No way, don’t you remember how I beat you in primary school?”
“Get out! Sleep well”
“Goodnight”
They then ended the call.
“It’s Tamarah. She is stupid. I will deal with her when she comes tomorrow” said Fostinah.
“But who is the one who sent you that text?” She added.
“Let me call the person” he said.
The moment he was dialing the number, his heartbeat increased with anxiety of whoever the person could be. He even put it the loud speaker on. “Hello”
“Hello how are you?” Peter greeted.
“Am beautiful.”
“Are you Tamarah?” Peter asked trying to confirm the voice which was similar to Tamarah’s.
“Of course its me.”
“No, Tamarah this is not how we joke”
“Have i done anything wrong?”
“Why did you use a different number to text me? And why did you text your Mulamu on another number?”
“Oh sorry about that. I lost my phone and my sim cardscouldn’t be replaced. So those are my new SIM cards. Those numbers are for two different networks” “Okay.”
“Like I have said, I will visit tomorrow”
“Okay goodnight”
“Goodnight”
Peter gave a deep sigh of relief after the call. He had been vindicated from the purported cheating case. Fostinah also got convinced with the call. “You see how patience save a lot of people?” He asked her.
“Yeah, I was almost boiling with anger right now”.
“Yeah, I sensed that. Let us now work on what we have talked about here. And I hope we will continue discussing issues just like that.”
“Yes of course. I guess we can rest now.”
“Yeah”
“Let me remove my clothes.”
“Okay”
“Are going to sleep with your clothes on?”
Peter looked at her and smiled knowing what that question meant to him. It was time to rejuvenate the blood in the bodies.
“Oh no, i am not sleeping with my clothes on.” He said removing his t-shirt.

On the next day, in the afternoon, Tamarah got ready to go and visit Peter’s place. “Grandma, am leaving now. I will come back after two days so that I can spend two more days with you before going back to my place as my leave will be done then.” Tamarah said.
“My dear come we talk a bit before you go” grandmother said standing up.
They went outside and sat on the chairs leaving grandfather and others inside the house.
“My dear, I know you are going to visit your cousin who is also your childhood friend but I have to remind you that he is married. You should do things with him as you would with any married man.” Grandmother said.
“Have I done anything that would make his wife think ill about me?”
“Those hugs? Prolonged chats? How you sit close to each other? Put yourself in her shoes. Imagine it was the cousin of your husband doing what you are doing to your husband, what would have come into you? So be careful.”
“Okay, i have heard but remember that there is nothing going on between us”
“Good. Be careful. Don’t make his wife complain internally because of your
actions. It might make her be hostile to you. Be careful” grandma added.
“Okay grandma”
“Go well”
Tamarah drove off in her Toyota Allison going to Peter’s place. She passed by the shopping mall and got some stuff for her nieces and nephew.
When she got there at Peter’s place, the children were the ones that ran first to her
to welcome her.
“Hello aunt” they said.
“Hello guys” she said as she bent in to hug them all.
“Aunt what have you brought for me?” Asked the nephew.
“Oh I have something special for you. Lets do this. Let’s carry all these plastic bags into the house. I will show you there.” She said opening the boot of the car.
They got the plastic bags and went into the house where Fostinah was. “Fostinah, the owner of the house is here” Tamarah shouted after entering the living room.
“Tamarah, am not Fostinah anymore, i am Bana Tina” Fostinah said. “Really?”
“Elo don’t make me beat you up right now. You already caused chaos yesterday” fostinah said.
“Hello, if your mother and I fight, who will you support?” Tamarah asked the children.
“Mummy” the two girls said except for the boy who was quiet.
“What about you?”
“I will support mummy then you” the boy said.
“You have to support me or else I won’t give you my gift for you”
“Okay I will support you”
“Good boy”
“Tamarah stop, bribing my kids” fostinah said.
“Then teach them not to be bribed. Come here and hug me. It’s been long” Tamarah and Fostinah hugged as they kept on teasing each other. The two had a long history back together. They were together from primary school till secondary school. They were best friends until when Peter fell in love with Fostinah. Tamarah was directed to the room whete she was to sleep. She went there with the children where she gave them what she had bought for them.
Tamarah then asked for Peter and was told that he was in the garage changing the wheel of his vehicle.
“Okay guys, i will find you. Let me see your father” Tamarah said leaving the children in the house.
She went outside to the garage where they parked the vehicles. It was attached to the house and was big enough to accommodate upto three cars. She saw the gate partially opened and entered inside.
“Hello there” she said calling out to Peter.
“Hi Tamarah” he said standing up.
“So you couldn’t come to welcome me?”
“I wanted to first finish changing the wheel” he said.
“Come on, give me a hug” she said extending her hands.
Peter went in and they hugged. Without expecting anything more, Tamarah held Peter’s head and gave him a light kiss on his lips. “What was that?” he asked.
“We call it, a light kiss”
“But why now?”
“I couldn’t control it”
“Listen Tamarah, I am a married man and I can’t do anything with you. You are like my sister to me”
“But am not your sister but cousin”
“What difference does it bring?”
“Hey, am in a very good mood. Let’s talk about something different. How was your day?” She asked.
