‘You keep staring at them.’ Edward says holding her hand
‘Look at how perfect they look.’ She says pushing back the little tear that is threatening to fall
He smiles lovingly
Twenty two years ago when they had come back with not one but two babies he had not understood her decision to adopt, but his wife had a good head over her shoulders and he knew that whatever decision she had made was probably the best. And as years went by he had no reason to question that decision.
‘Mum he is here.’ Chanda says excitedly
She smiles lovingly as Nella blushes whilst opening the door.
A white man walks in, and she gets startled. She swears she has seen this young man before, much younger now but he was in her vision in that labor ward.
‘Mum, dad, this is August, my boyfriend.’ She says holding his hand.
Tears escape her eyes, but this time Chileshe lets them fall. Her life has been a living testimony and God has been entirely good to her. She has had the chance to live twice in one life.
‘Nice to meet you August.’ She says with a huge smile
‘You are welcome son.’ Edward says
August takes a sit just opposite the couple as Nella goes to fetch them something to drink.
‘Please excuse me.’ Chileshe says going to her room
When she gets there, she gets on her knees.
‘Lord, I have never understood that vision you sent to me in that ward. I have never known why you showed me that life but I am
grateful, I must say I have lived the best life. My daughters have made me proud, my husband has been a loving husband and father and I am extremely grateful for him. I thank you for the young man in Nella’s life and because I trusted you that day by bringing a total stranger into this house and raising her as my own daughter, I trust also that you will be kind to my girl with this man. Amen.’ She prays and gets up
When she goes back to the living room she finds the three have removed board games and are just waiting for her.
She looks at Chanda, the daughter she adopted and raised like her own. In the vision she was a totally different person but in this life she had proven to be different, loving and caring all the while. Nella on the other hand was more the same and she wondered about Chibesa and Katai; who they were or where they were. She often thought of the Nakambas and hoped that they had healed from the loss of their child and not turned out like in the vision. Then her husband, she was grateful that he was still alive and that the two were running the firm they had built from the ground up.
‘Baby we decided for game time.’ Edward says bringing her back from her reverie

‘That’s a good idea.’ She responds with a smile and joins them
‘Thank you for being here, for never being absent in the lives of our daughters. For never leaving us to feel alone, for being emotionally and physically present. I love you.’ Edward whispers in her ears lovingly
‘I love you.’ She whispers back
