I see him breathing heavily as if he’s a beast or something.

Sizwe: Enjoyed that?

Nancy:(Pretending to smile)Yeah a lot.

I couldn’t wait to get out of his door. When I got home I took a bath and slept. The next day my parents went to church. I don’t like going to the church because the pastor is a crook. 2 years ago he was fundraising for a new ceiling and now he has a new car and no ceiling. His congregation is too stupid to realise. Simon stops his wheelbarrow and approaches me.

Nancy: Hey Sim

Simon:Hi Nan

He takes out a strawberry and gives it to me.

Nancy:I don’t eat strawberries.

Simon:False you don’t eat Mangoes.

He takes the strawberry and runs to wash it. He always behaves silly around me. I eat the strawberry and he stands there watching me.

Nancy:What?

Simon:You have beautiful teeth… I mean a beautiful smile

Nancy:Thanks..you better go

He goes. Simon plants his own fruits and veggies and sells them for extra cash. Not because his family is poor but because he likes his own money. Nomsa calls me.

Nomsa:Nan come to the park now!

She hangs up. When I arrive at the park I see her.

Nancy:Hey Nom whatsup?

She shows me Sizwe and another girl sitting in the park.

Nancy:They are just friends.

Nomsa counts to five. And they kiss
