With the little strength left in me, i took to my heels in the direction of the nearest jewelry shop.

 

 

The shop was the only jewelry store in our town. They do polishing as well as melting of jewelries to make other designs.

 

“How much will I get for these, Sir?” I asked and removed the two necklaces when I got to the shop.

 

It’s good that granny gave me this necklaces else, where would I have gotten the money from?

 

The middle aged man took the necklace from me and stared at it thoughtfully.

 

“Please just take it and give me one million, I will pay the rest later.” I added when he was not saying a thing.

 

Maybe they’re not precious as granny said. I thought as my face dropped.

 

With a smile, The man took one of the necklaces and drop a bundle of money in front of me.

 

“That’s 1.5 million. You can keep the other necklace.”

 

I couldn’t believe my ears,” Thank you sir but you can really keep the other one too, you don’t have to give me such huge money for one chain. I don’t want to cheat you sir.”

 

“You might not be cheating me but I will be the one if I take both for 1.5m. it seems you really don’t know the worth of this necklaces.”

 

I took the other one and put it around my neck. Granny was right after all.

 

“Thank you sir, am grateful.” I picked up the money and was leaving when my shoulder brushed someone’s.

 

I turned quickly to look because the person’s cologne was familiar.

Louis’s POV

 

I stared at the jewelry after the girl left without blinking.

 

Where did she get such an expensive piece.

 

This is one of MDs collections right from California.

 

How did such an ordinary girl have this?

 

I didn’t want to cheat her that’s why I decided to take just one. In a way I did cheat her because this necklace actually cost a billion. Besides if I carry the two necklaces to sell, I might get arrested if am not able to to produce any documents.

 

But it’s won’t be suspicious if I sell only one that’s why I took one.

 

The one I took was pure gold and crystals. It was really beautiful.

 

This girl just made me rich overnight. I would have this sold and buy a luxurious apartment and a number of cars.

 

I can’t wait to have it sold. I placed it on my desk and went in search of a necklace box to place it in.

 

When I returned, a fancy boy was waiting for me at the desk.

 

He removed a wrist watch from his wrist and threw it on the desk and it miraculously fell beside the necklace I just bought.

 

I looked up and his eyes were fixed keenly on where he’s watch fell.

 

I grabbed the necklace from the desk and put it in the box.

 

“How may I help you sir?”

 

“I need it polished right now!” He said curtly.

 

I took the wrist watch and examined it. Then I looked back at him. It’s was MD brand.

 

I bowed my head in fear when I realized who he really was, it was the musician’s son. Amy Rockxon. I also heard that he’s the nephew of the CEO of MD.

 

What a coincidence! Just a moment ago, a lady came to sell MDs product to me and here is someone close to the MD himself.

 

I hope I don’t get into any kind of trouble.

 

Am just an ordinary man. What if the lady stole the necklace?

 

“Are you listening to me?” I heard his voice and looked up.

“Would you attend to me or you’ll keep standing there like an ascient statue? He said almost yelling.

 

“Sorry sir.” I apologized and called for one of my employees to have his watch polished.

 

Thank God he didn’t ask any questions about the necklace.

MEGAN’S POV

 

 

From Palau to Queensland in Australia is quite far but here I was stacked In a traffic jam on my way to the airport.

 

I rolled my sleeves up to check my favorite gold wrist watch when I noticed how dull it looked.

 

I let the driver packed the car when I saw a jewelry store just beside the road.

 

I will just have it polished. I kept staring at the gift which was gifted to me by my aunt Paula on my 10th year birthday and it has been my favorite since. It was a unfitting when I was given but now it’s fit properly.

 

I got out of the car and walked towards the store then I felt someone brushed past me in a haste.

 

I halted my steps for a moment before turning but when I looked, there was no one around.

 

I went back and scanned the area but I didn’t see the person. It was just an illusion I guess.

 

I went back into the store and instantly removed the watch and dumped it on the desk and it fell beside one locket on the desk.

 

It was beautiful and it’s was one of MDs collections. I looked around the jewelries in the room but there wasn’t one which was breathtaking as the one on the desk.

 

A man appeared and quickly grabbed it and put it’s in a box before asking how he may help.

 

I told him and he took the watch but didn’t moved from where he stood.

 

“Could you make it fast?” I asked politely.

 

I got irritated when he didn’t answer the question I asked him.

 

“Are you listening to me?” I asked sternly.

 

He didn’t budge so I was forced to yell once more,”Would you attend to me or you’ll keep standing there like an ascient statue? ”

 

He quickly called for someone after he apologized and the person came for the watch.

 

Within a few minutes, it’s was brought back and it’s looked new. I was impressed by it and paid double.

 

I was leaving when I stopped.

 

I still couldn’t get how the person who bumped into me disappeared so quickly. It was mysterious.

 

I decided to asked the man.

 

“Was someone here a second ago before I arrived?” I asked the man.

 

“No.” He said quickly.

 

“No?” I asked and walked back inside fully with an intimidating look. “I mean yes. A lady was here. I thought you met her at the door.” “A lady?” I asked.

 

So it was a lady.

 

“Yes but why are you asking this questions?” The man asked.

 

“What was she doing here?” I asked ignoring his question.
