Derrick faced Rose who sat comfortably on the bed as if it’s her room, there was no light in the room but the help of the candle light burning make it possible for one to see the other person’s face.

Back to Mr Ellison house where the night looked just like day time due to the lights that filled everywhere, under one of the mango tree that stood in the garden

 

 

was Patricia thinking so hard about her life and how to survive in such a situation she found herself not to bring problem to the family, her decision was to run out of the house.

 

The night hour didn’t scare the poor girl a bit as she sat thinking critically on life and how it’s treating her and her family which she had not seen for years.

 

Linda woke up turning to the bed, she couldn’t feel Patricia’s body on the bed, she cleaned her eyes well but still Patricia was not in sight, like a caring mother she stood up wearing her shoes still in her night dress she walked outside looking for her and finally found her lost in thought under the mango tree.

 

Linda is one of the maidens in the house who took Patricia as her blood sister, just like Mr Ellison took her as his daughter too.

 

“Patricia!” she called but she couldn’t hear her until she walked to where she sat making her to jerk up in alert.

 

OH Linda it’s you ” she said

 

Not again Patri, I’ve told you to let go of this thing dear, now look at yourself here all alone by this time of the night, just be calm for a while everything will be back for normal ” She said

“I will understand, now let’s go to sleep ” she dragged her to stand up as she tried talking but Linda didn’t allow her as she kept dragging her, zhe had no other option than to follow her gently.

“Okay fine you are right, I love her ” Derrick said looking down

 

“Good, she loves you too Derrick but she doesn’t want to admit it, it’s obvious you two have the same feelings for each other ”

“Derrick fine to prove if I’m right, just try to avoid her for days and see what will happen “She picking her hand bag

 

“Why are you telling me this Rose ” Derrick asked

 

“To be sincere Derrick I feel the same thing for you but seeing that you two are meant for each other and to save my friendship I decided to do it this way, it hurts me to do so but I’m doing for the love I have for her. Goodnight Derrick “she grabbed her back and leave the house leaving Derrick in a confused state as he stood without knowing what to say or do. He sigh and walked to the bed allowing Rose words sank into his memory.

Next day the sun set as Ana stretched lazily on the bed checking the time due to how she slept late the previous night seeing the time as 9:08am she almost screamed out, she stood up in a hurry throwing the duvet away rushing to the bathroom, she brushed her teeth, took off her dress allowing the cold water to fall on her like a goddess having her early morning bath, in no time she was out of the room applying her make up rushing things. She carried her bag on her shoulder, slam the door from behind walking briskly to the main road to take a cab.

Toledo University as usual was busy with lectures walking up and down to where they had lessons with the students, Mr Palz was already in the department of science taking the srudnets who were busy concerntrating on the board, Handsome, Mike, Derrick and rose were already in the class.

 

“Now let’s look at what we have on the board ” Mr Palz Saks adjusting his trousers just like papa Ajasco his long brown tie that stopped on his knee almost made the students laughed at him.

 

“You rodents what are you people smiling at? Silly environmental virus “he said dropping the text book he was holding

 

“Please sir may I come in “? Ana voice sounded from the outside, she stood like a lost fowl looking for the mother in the midst of other mother hen.

 

Ana is known as girl who is full of respect despite the fact that you can enter the class as you wish even when the lecturer is in the class but Ana always find it difficult to do so.

 

Mr Palz adjusted his glasses looking at her

 

 

“Who has a Cockroach in front of me”

 

 

“Sir I’m not a cockroach, I’m a human being “she replied smiling while Mr Palz Said

 

“Then you are trying to call me and animal?

 

“No sir ” sha replied while Mr Palz gave way for her to enter, she walked into the class, Handsome eyes was on her but Derrick had to adopt what Rose said the previous day, he ignored her looking at the book before him but deep down he was feeling the pains of ignoring her.

 

Ana sat down next to Derrick since that was the only seat that was not occupy

 

“Hey Derrick good morning “She greeted but Derrick ignored her pretending to be looking at the board more closely.

 

 

“Hey please can you help me Witt the note to cover the space I couldn’t meet him “? She said to Derrick again who couldn’t bear the happiness in his heart but he had to do what Rose asked him to do to prove how much she feels for him. Ana seeing how Derrick ignored her looked down and disappointed, she stood up walking to Rose.

 

“Please can you help with the note “? She asked Rose

 

“What of Derrick you guys are sitting together ” Rose pretending as if she knows nothing about Derrick reaction

 

“He’s ignoring me, he is not talking to me”she said in her tiny voice

 

“Then why is your face like this “? She asked as Ana widened her eyes

 

“Nothing “she replied faking a smile.

 

Ana eyes caught Derrick staring at her, he adverted his eyes instantly immediately their eyes met.

 

“Thanks “She murmured and walked away

 

The class finally ended and Mr Palz left them to make noise and enjoy as usual.

♥ HANDSOME POV ♥

 

Seeing how Derrick ignored Ana brought joy to my heart that at least something is wrong since I sat not very far from them. The sad expression on her face showed that something is wrong somewhere. I felt like telling Derrick to leave Ana for me but that’s impossible. I kept watching them play along until my time comes.

♥ DERRICK POV ♥

 

I watched Ana talking to me, I ignored her but deep down I felt like hugging her but i had to keep myself in a coded way since Rose told me to do so. I watched her

The day was far spent, Derrick retired to his apartment including Ana and the rest. Taking off his shirts, the time was already 3:07pm showing that it’s just some minutes left for him to rest. He walked to the kitchen prepared something for himself, in less than 30 minutes he was done eating. He climbed the bed allowing the food to go down his belly as he picked up his phone dailing his father’s number.

 

“Good day dad ”

 

“Derrick how are you doing “?

 

I’m fine dad, how’s the family? He asked

 

“It’s okay for now my son ” he replied

 

“Okay dad I’ll call you later, my regards to everyone ” he said ending the call as he stood up walking to his wardrobe to check something to wear out.

♥ ANA POV ♥

 

My heart almost broke seeing how Derrick ignored as if I’m invisible, my heart shattered, the pains I’ve not felt before in my entire life. What is Derrick really using on me, everyday my feelings for him keep increasing but I’m not ready for love, I have to face my studies and life which seems challenging to me. I didn’t know I’ve took time so much until I checked the time to see the time reads 5:08pm showing that I’m damn late for work for the day. I hurriedly dress up without eating, it’s all because of Derrick which I promise to pay him back very soon, I arrived the shop to see my mistress angry eyes on me, I took time to apologized to her telling her that I’m not feeling fine which she took is as truth in a way she

 

 

didn’t even complain but why am I having this feeling that someone is following me..

 

Back to the kitchen where Derrick was preparing meal for the day, he decided to take some rest since he was done. He took time in arranging the needful to its normal position.

 

“Ana go and get the stuffs from the kitchen from Derrick ” miss Angelina said to Ana who couldn’t believe the name she just heard from her mistress.

 

“Okay ma’am ” zhe said walking to the kitchen feeling her heart beat increasing as if she’s going to die in a minute.

 

Her mind was just like she was going to see a ghost, she grabbed the door knob and twist it open, what she saw almost made her faint. .
